Where is Derek Jeter's Recognition?

Ok, I understand what you guys mean now. I can already see it now, the writers are going to call Jeter the best SS of all time.

Are you sure that they haven't done that already? ;) haha

I don't think they will proclaim him the best of all-time. I'm fairly certain anybody involved enough with baseball to be writing about it as a career is well aware of Honus Wagner and all the Jeter-man-love in the world won't blind more than just a few numbskulls to the fact that Wagner is head and shoulders above every other shortstop ever.

He was. Rodriguez, as a shortstop, had 5,687 plate appearances at a 144 OPS+ with strong defense. Wagner's career OPS+ is higher than that at 150..and that includes his decline phase. A-Rod's top OPS+ as a shortstop was 162. Wagner topped that 7 times. Wagner won the "triple-slash stat triple crown" 4 times (AVG/OBP/SLG)...and three of those times he also led the league in steals. Wagner was one of the most dominant offensive forces of his time, all while playing shortstop.
