Forgot about Billups.
on a separate note,
How the hell did Tracy McGrady and Allen Iverson both get an insane amount of votes? Kevin Garnett too for that matter.

you mean fan votes weren't accurate representations of player performance? stop the presses!

Re: ~ *!*!* OFFICIAL*2009-2010*NBA*Thread *!*!* ~
I agree it's bad way to choose the All- stars but I don't really understand the backlash at Iverson personally. People say he shouldn't play and such. It's not his fault he got voted in. If I was him I would play as well. He had a great quote about it. Basically saying he doesn't care what a couple of talking heads say when he obviously has millions of fans.

Boston = awesome................
How is my team doing this year anyway?
See how much I care? Is the NBA even in season right now? I pay that little of attention.

They are still a good 33-18 , but
This team is no where close to the team that won just 2 years ago.
Garnett's knee injury has totally changes his career, he is not the player he once was, this one fact mitigates the teams ability to hang with the top teams.
the Rasheed Signing looks bad (41% shooting/ 29% 3pys shooting) Ray Allen is starting to look like hes a 33 year old shooting guard (PPG has fallen to 16/ 3pt shooting is the lowest of his career @ 33%)
One the Plus Side Pierce is still a solid all around player, Rondo now looks like a real top point guard. Perkins can look good, but struggles with consistency ona night to night basis.

In two years Rondo has arguably gone from a liability to the best player on the floor. Not bad on a team with 3 HOFers.

Rondo can look great, its a too passive on the offensive end though, if he could incorporate some the the aggressiveness on the offenses end that Pierce has always shown (especially near the end of the game), he could become a bonafied number 1 guy.

There are reports that a Nate Robinson deal is going to happen with the Celtics.

The reports originally are Eddie House and a 2nd Round pick to the Knicks. I'll take it. Although House's salary would be too much so there may be a 3rd team involved.

Re: ~ *!*!* OFFICIAL*2009-2010*NBA*Thread *!*!* ~
It's interesting but the only really bad team in need of a point guard are the Knicks. So I could see them actually trying to wheel and deal for the number one pick if they don't get it in the lottery.
-
Re: ~ *!*!* OFFICIAL*2009-2010*NBA*Thread *!*!* ~
Will the Nets pick him if they get the top pick?
-
Re: ~ *!*!* OFFICIAL*2009-2010*NBA*Thread *!*!* ~
I could see it happening. Devin Harris has been plagued by injuries throughout his career to this point. Perhaps the Nets could draft Wall & deal Harris.
Another possibility is that the Nets realize they're so awful that one guy is not going to fix the problem (which is the case). So the Nets listen to offers for the #1 and try to move the pick.
-
Re: ~ *!*!* OFFICIAL*2009-2010*NBA*Thread *!*!* ~
I'm interested to learn if Wall can learn to hit jumpers and can play on a slower tempo offense or not.

Oh wow. Ouch.
If the Nets get the #1 pick they will deal Harris. They aren't a terrible basketball team. Certainly not this bad. They just are defeated emotionally and that really is hurting them. Lopez is good. Chris Douglas-Roberts is a good young player.
Wall doesn't have to be in a slower paced offense. The Nets could change that offense for him. He's an outstanding prospect and if they do get him he's going to make that team instantly better a la Derrick Rose.

Re: ~ *!*!* OFFICIAL*2009-2010*NBA*Thread *!*!* ~
that tall Chinesse player is pretty good, he had a great night the other night.
-
Re: ~ *!*!* OFFICIAL*2009-2010*NBA*Thread *!*!* ~
Yi. He's been a bit of a bust thus far but he can put up great nights every now and then and certainly with John Wall does not have to be the star Milwaukee was hoping for when they drafted him.
The Nets just a coach that will get that team on the right track and a player that can be a coach on the floor. If they don't get the #1 I would look into the amazing leadership potential of Scottie Reynolds in Villanova.
-
Re: ~ *!*!* OFFICIAL*2009-2010*NBA*Thread *!*!* ~
Yi Jianlin kills fantasy teams with his atrocious fg% (sub 42%).
As OD said, the Nets are not this bad, they just been unlucky and are drained mentally. Brook Lopez is a very good player.

Not going to happen, but here goes!
LeBron for the #1 pick, Brook Lopez, Yi Jianlian, and Devin Harris
Knicks become a future championship team with the nucleus of Wall, Harris, Lopez, Gallinari, and David Lee, with Eddie House, Al Harrington, Yi, and Wilson Chandler off the bench - while Jay-Z gets LeBron when he moves the Nets to Brooklyn
Or the Knicks can keep LeBron and deal stick him with 11 crappy teammates for the next 10 years.
-
Re: ~ *!*!* OFFICIAL*2009-2010*NBA*Thread *!*!* ~
The Knicks technically can afford two maximum contracts. I could really, really see LeBron and Bosh playing in New York.

James will not be traded once he signs with the Knicks, assuming he signs with them. I'm pretty sure the player union or whatever it's called will be against it.
-
Re: ~ *!*!* OFFICIAL*2009-2010*NBA*Thread *!*!* ~
It's illegal to trade a player you signed until X number of days after the signing (30, 60, or 90 depending on the type of signing & I have to assume Lebron's would be a 90 day wait period)
I can see Lebron & Wade playing together in NY over Lebron & Bosh since Lebron & Wade have been talking about wanting to play together for over a year. And while we're talking about NY, Gallinari hasn't impressed me so far and I won't be surprised to see him go back to Europe after his rookie deal expires (but these are just my 2 uninformed opinions)
-
Re: ~ *!*!* OFFICIAL*2009-2010*NBA*Thread *!*!* ~
Last week or the week before one of the writers for ESPN.com was saying how cool it would be for LeBron, D-Wade & Chris Bosh to agree to take less money in order to play together for the Knicks. They wouldn't make as much, but they'd be all but assured a few championships, plus playing in New York at the world's most famous arena and TONS of endorsement opportunities would more than off-set that. Not likely, but a cool idea.
In other news, the Clips fired Mike Dunleavy as GM today, less than a month after he stepped down as coach to focus on him GM duties.
