Not going to happen, but here goes!
LeBron for the #1 pick, Brook Lopez, Yi Jianlian, and Devin Harris
Knicks become a future championship team with the nucleus of Wall, Harris, Lopez, Gallinari, and David Lee, with Eddie House, Al Harrington, Yi, and Wilson Chandler off the bench - while Jay-Z gets LeBron when he moves the Nets to Brooklyn
Or the Knicks can keep LeBron and deal stick him with 11 crappy teammates for the next 10 years.

The Knicks technically can afford two maximum contracts. I could really, really see LeBron and Bosh playing in New York.

James will not be traded once he signs with the Knicks, assuming he signs with them. I'm pretty sure the player union or whatever it's called will be against it.

It's illegal to trade a player you signed until X number of days after the signing (30, 60, or 90 depending on the type of signing & I have to assume Lebron's would be a 90 day wait period)
I can see Lebron & Wade playing together in NY over Lebron & Bosh since Lebron & Wade have been talking about wanting to play together for over a year. And while we're talking about NY, Gallinari hasn't impressed me so far and I won't be surprised to see him go back to Europe after his rookie deal expires (but these are just my 2 uninformed opinions)
Re: ~ *!*!* OFFICIAL*2009-2010*NBA*Thread *!*!* ~
Last week or the week before one of the writers for ESPN.com was saying how cool it would be for LeBron, D-Wade & Chris Bosh to agree to take less money in order to play together for the Knicks. They wouldn't make as much, but they'd be all but assured a few championships, plus playing in New York at the world's most famous arena and TONS of endorsement opportunities would more than off-set that. Not likely, but a cool idea.
In other news, the Clips fired Mike Dunleavy as GM today, less than a month after he stepped down as coach to focus on him GM duties.
Re: ~ *!*!* OFFICIAL*2009-2010*NBA*Thread *!*!* ~
Well, LeBron already HAS his endorsements and marketability, so it isn't much of a sell for him. For the other two, maybe.
Re: ~ *!*!* OFFICIAL*2009-2010*NBA*Thread *!*!* ~
Yeah I would file that under highly unlikely. 3 of the games top 10 players in one place? Nahh
Re: ~ *!*!* OFFICIAL*2009-2010*NBA*Thread *!*!* ~
Why would on earth James sign with the Knicks? They are a loser franchise just like Cleveland, might as well stay in your home if you are Lebron.
Re: ~ *!*!* OFFICIAL*2009-2010*NBA*Thread *!*!* ~
b/c the Knicks will have enough cap room to sign free agents to max contracts, meaning Lebron can have his choice of who to play with (Wade, Bosh, Joe Johnson, etc)

I highly doubt it will work like that. I anticipate Lebron staying in Cleveland. New York has done nothing and Cleveland has a better team at the moment, I doubt he would go to a worst team just because they are in New York.

I assume you're just drunk b/c I said nothing about him going just cause it's NY. Lebron & Wade or Bosh or Johnson along with Wilson Chandler, David Lee, Gallinari, Toney Douglas & whoever they pick up with their exceptions will be at worst hosting a first round playoff series next season. Cleveland will be bringing back Jamison (getting up there in age) & maybe Shaq or Z, with Moe Williams, Delonte West, & Hickson as their youngsters (which is a worse trio than Gallinari, Lee, & Chandler). Cleveland would immediately go back to being a lottery team without Lebron

I am drunk sir. But we can bet that he will stay in Cleveland. It has been mentioned Wade has every intention of staying in Miami.
In addition when Tracy McGradey texted Lebron after they played and he said he looks forward to playing with him in New York, Lebron replied, "LOL".

david lee wouldn't be able to stay if we signed 2 max free agents
Re: ~ *!*!* OFFICIAL*2009-2010*NBA*Thread *!*!* ~
Heck. Who knows? Maybe the Clips will offer him the "Magic Johnson Deal" and offer him part-ownership of the team if he signs there. But that would require Donald Sterling dropping dead by the end of this season or they'd have to make James the de-facto GM as well.
Still not sure I see him returning to Cleveland. His teammates are either over-the-hill, or youngsters who's ceiling isn't high enough to ensure he wins a title. I also haven't heard anything definitive to say Wade is staying in Miami. With the Knicks' cap room, if Wade does decide to test FA, I see LeBron doing the same and the 2 of them at least discussing the possibility of going to NY.
