Figured I'd start this season's thread off with seemingly the way every NBA season starts, with AI bitching about god knows what

Oh, and just for the record, F U C K the bobcats. I only buy tickets b/c you can go front row for like $10 & they deliver the food & beer to you & the arena is so damn quiet that the players can hear every single one of our verbal taunts

hahaha. I was actually thinking of going down to a Bobcats game to see the Celtics play possibly. I think it is only about 3 - 4 hour drive from here.

Oh, it's cheap as **** & since nobody goes to the games, there's not even a traffic situation after the games either (as long as you don't go on a weekend). If they ever decide not to draft a dookie or tarhole with their first round pick I might even think of pulling for their sorry asses

Haha awesome! It will be a nice easy trip for me then, just like when I go to Baltimore to see the Sox. I bet it is a lot like watching Celtics games back in the 90's. Can't wait!

God the NBA regular season is the biggest joke in professional sports. Just a giant waste of time until the playoffs start. About 4 or 5 actual games of meaning during the entire season. Just pathetic.
Watching tonight's game on ESPN, they have Doris Burke doing the sideline reporting. That's a joke too, she needs to be the color commentator on every NBA broadcast. She outclasses everyone else and it's not even remotely close...she's in a league of her own, but they relegate her to the sideline because Jackson and Van Gundy like to flirt with each other the entire time. Doris Burke is the best, simple as that..and it's not even close.

Haha, that's the reason I always get from people for why they don't follow MLB

So untrue though. MLB games have meaning because only 4 teams make the playoffs from each league. You have teams that are actually good/above-average fighting to the very end for a playoff spot. In the NBA, you already know 12-14 teams EVERY YEAR that are LOCKS for the playoffs. THe only drama is between teams that are BELOW AVERAGE that are playing just for the right to be killed in the 1st round. Watching below .500 teams make the playoffs is just pure stupidity. Cut the # of playoff teams in half for the NBA and things improve DRAMATICALLY. It would be damn exciting to see teams like New Orleans and Dallas and Houston battling for the playoffs last season. Instead, we get sorry-ass Indiana and Detroit and Charlotte battling for the playoffs, with Detroit "winning" the spot with their 39 wins. Just pure retarded.

I'm not a fan of either regular season for what it's worth

I know, just responding to the argument. I hear that a lot too...and it's insanely dumb. I'm not gonna say that baseball is the most exciting sport in the world, but to say the regular season doesn't have meaning...just bullsh*t.

All that matters is where LeBron is going after the season.

Agreed. I feel like something has to be done even with the playoff format and size. Too many teams get in that really don't have a chance. I really hate seeing under .500 teams get in some how. If they were to change the playoff format, maybe the regular season will have more meaning.

There is 6 Celtics players on the NBA All-Star ballot. Does this really seem right?
