Prime Nine's most unbreakable records
How much do you agree with this list?
I would make some changes, personally.
9. Gagne 84 straight saves
8. Joe DiMaggio's 56 game hitting streak
7. Pete Rose career hits
6. Hack Wilson's single season RBI's
5. Nolan Ryan's career strike outs
4. Rickey Henderson's career stolen bases
3. Yankees five world series titles in a row
2. Cal Ripken's consecutive games streak
1. Cy Young's 511 wins
there are other less popular records, especially some of the records that Cy Young set, Babe Ruth's combination batting and pitching records.
but as far as popular or well known records.
Re: Prime Nine's most unbreakable records
Joey D should have a higher hit streak ranking.

i think career hits will be broken before the hit streak will be broken, i agree.

Nolan Ryan's career no-hitters would be one I'd add.

I think 6,5,4 are too high, especially 4, I would put 8 ahead of all of them
Re: Prime Nine's most unbreakable records
I can see number 6 being broken
Re: Prime Nine's most unbreakable records
I don't know if it counts as "well-known", but one omission that I picked up on immediately was Barry Bonds' 120 IBB in a season. His career record is silly, too, but it might be broken - Albert Pujols still has a long, fine career ahead of him, and the career numbers he's posted so far are intense.

I didn't think of that one.
There are a lot of little records like this that you will just never see broken.
Re: Prime Nine's most unbreakable records
i don't believe there is such a thing as an unbreakable record

Yeah, there are once in a lifetime players...Young is more than that even allowing for the era.
Re: Prime Nine's most unbreakable records
Johnny Vander Meer:
Quote:
Vander Meer is the only pitcher in major league history to pitch no-hitters in two consecutive starts
Re: Prime Nine's most unbreakable records
A lot of those older pitching records (ex. Cy Young)
Mostly the CGs though, pitchers don't even have a chance to break that.
