Champman will be a...
What type of contract do you think he will get and what team do you think will sign him?

Re: Champman will be a...
I would guess the best bet is on the Red Sox or Yankees.

LOL what!?!? All thirty teams have an equal chance to sign him. There's no inequality or any advantages for some teams over the others. The Marlins will get him probably.

From the article:
Quote:
"We chose Andorra because of its tranquility, its tax benefits for Aroldis, and also being a commercial mecca of sorts, particularly for its size," Edwin Mejia, Chapman's agent, wrote in an e-mail. "We felt that it could translate to unique marketing opportunities for Aroldis in Europe.
"Andorra is a winter playground for the wealthy and powerful residents of Europe, of which, God willing, Aroldis will be as well. Given all our options it became the perfect choice. He even has health insurance, life insurance, and a pension all before he even signs his first major league contract. We are very proud of this."
Given the information in bold, I'd say that the Yankees or Red Sox have the best chance. He's not going to go to some team like KC or Houston with no hope of winning a World Series and no chance of paying him the big bucks: he's going to go to a big-market city with a chance to win plenty of World Series'

It's an illusion. His thumb is bent back, that's one. Than, his pointer finger...the little nub next to that is the top of his thumb. He has his middle finger and ring finger crossed...then his pinky.

I thought that was a possibility. Just didn't look right when I tried it. Does that particular "sign" have any specific meaning?

Where I come from it is a "W" for "Westsiiiide"

Re: Champman will be a...
Chapman is on the left.
The friend flashing gang signs is, as far as I can tell, just a douche.

20-30 MILLION depending on how hard the "big boys" want him....unlike Strasburg he is a IFA & when you look at what "lesser" talents are getting or have got (eg the Astros RE signed the uber -stud Moehler to 3 mill who is 37 now & coming off a "fabulous" 8-12 5.47 ERA campaign.....) a 20 something LEFT handed kid with 95+ heat will be in demand.
To whom he goes will depend on budget constraints,"love" & needs but there are at least 15 teams interested including all the big boys....

Re: Champman will be a...
darn, another language to learn...
I always wondered what the "killerz" sign meant. Two Hispanic gangster-types came to my house one day flashing that and holding a pistol in the other. They ran and didn't flash any signs after I grabbed my shotgun. Guess they don't have a sign for that yet...
I don't know why I assumed the guy on the right was Chapman. Now that I look at him, he doesn't have the build you expect from a top prospect pitcher.

I think the Yankees, Tigers or White Sox will sign him. For some reason I don't see Boston getting very involved in negotiations.

Yeah, I believe that I have heard that Boston has not shown a lot of interest.

Aroldis is going to the White Sox.

I agree, Ardolis Chapman is a White Sox, the Yanks already ruined Contreras, no more of that.

Quoted for historical accuracy????
Nah.....no way the Marlins get him. Really?

Re: Champman will be a...
lol just for clarity...my comment way back then was a sarcastic one....I'm not going to brag about it too much..still a cool coincidence IF he does sign with them.
Hell, the Royals just nabbed a pretty highly touted international prospect a couple weeks ago....so it's possible.

It won't. Cuban defectors' dates of birth are typically far more reliable than places like the Dominican Republic.
Cuba uses their baseball team in international tournaments to raise national prestige, and most of those tournaments have minimum ages. If Cuba pretends that he is younger than in reality, that would be years that they could be using him for competition that they weren't.
At the same time, there's absolutely no incentive for Cuba to say that he is younger than he really is, because all that does is make him more desirable to MLB organizations, and that is the last thing Cuba wants anyway.

No logic whatsoever!
People are still insisting that Albert Pujols is older than his listed age even though he went through the American school system and was drafted here.

Albert Pujols is really a 91 year old grandfather.

The word is "rebuttal." That is my rebuttal.
