Actually, I'm refering to fans (and you know some, or may even be one yourself) that have no idea about baseball, could care less about other teams, and who come up with the most idiotic things I have ever seen in my life.

I post on the Braves's MLB fan forum, and sometimes I want to shoot myself in the face. Here's just a sample of some interesting posts (copied word for word):

the worst part of homerism is the absurd trade offers.

actually, I find that to be the funniest part. You can get some real laughs reading trade offers from fans. Most fans of any given team tend to overrate their own guys, even the ones they want to get rid of (in fact, especially the ones they want to get rid of), and/or underrate the other team's guys. It's downright comical sometimes.

I think if Atlanta does trade him he ends up in Kansas. For whatever reason their GM is in love with the guy. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on which team you root for), it won't be for anyone close to Greinke's value :)

I love the stupid, moronic trade offers that "homers" come up with. It's like... if you're so eager to get rid of a bunch of crap players for another team's best starter/hitter, why will they be so eager to acquire them? I always think about that when I make trades in Baseball Mogul.

The best/fairest trades will "hurt" both sides somewhat in giving up players of value.

Actually, I wouldn't trade Clete Thomas and Adam Everett for Ryan Theriot.

I was recently told that the Nats would give up Adam Dunn for Nate Robertson, Wilkin Ramirez, and Casey Fien. When I asked why they would trade one of the top hitters in baseball for 2 average prospects they don't need and an albatross pitcher, he told me that they really really needed the 3 mil in salary relief over 2 years. :rolleyes:

You mean the M's aren't gonna trade Carlos Silva and Yuniesky Betancourt to the Mets for Johan Santana? Its gonna save the Mets so much money to have Silva's contract instead of Santana's and Betancourt can be the starting shortstop until Reyes gets back. We could always add Bryan LaHair and Chris Shelton to sweeten the pot a bit. They can play first until Delgado comes back.

The Rockies should trade Clint Barmes to Boston for Dustin Pedroia. The Rockies get a decent second bagger with a good bat and the Red Sox free up salary space for Holliday in the coming free agent season. Plus, Barmes has been on fire lately so that will increase his trade value.

Get Epstein on the phone.

You know there is a good player out west named Chris, I mean Tim Lincecum, we should trade Jason Gaimbi over there because the Giants need a batter. That would be a fair trade imo. Also Chris, I mean Tim makes less money.
