Re: Atheists: Fully Human?
We could even have a side bet of 6:1 that the pitcher gets that first hit
If the game uses DHs instead of Pitchers at the plate, then I think 20:1 that the pitcher gets the first hit is still a fair line

Re: Atheists: Fully Human?
Just a couple thoughts I had after reading the link here, didnt read the convo going on, but I think the world would be a better place if Atheists called all the shots. At least they know how important your life is and wont throw it away by sending you somewhere like Iraq.
Also, it seems to me nothing teaches intolerance of each other quite like religion does, if you really think about it.
One more, its hard to threaten me that I will go to hell for not believing in your god, when basically today, is hell already. And people have it worse than me and I think im living in hell. WTF?

Jesus said, "LOVE YOUR ENEMIES, BLESS those who curse you,DO GOOD to those you hate you, and PRAY for those who despitefully use you, and persecute you THAT YOU MAY BE THE CHILDREN OF YOUR FATHER WHO IS IN HEAVEN" (Matthew 5:44-45)
Anyone who calls themselves a Christian and does any less needs to read the Word of God again!

Yeah...I had some stress: Moving, work, new one on the way and really had to evaluate this whole thing. I popped in and read some stuff after I left...saw some things that made me wonder if I should come back....
Decided to take a breather.
Deleted a few of my old threads.
Decided to take another breather.
Easing back in, testing the waters.

Re: Atheists: Fully Human?
Did you read the thread in Sports Talk about that new 16 year-old "phenom" who wants to play for the Yankees? We were wondering if it was your child. Didn't you have a Las Vegas sabbatical once?

Re: Atheists: Fully Human?
There you go! That's the next chapter of "The Life & Times Of RickD".
-
Re: Atheists: Fully Human?
Next chapter will be....where did I pack the diapers?
-
Re: Atheists: Fully Human?
Hmmmm, doesn't quite roll off the tongue (or the keyboard) as well yet, but it might grow on me.

Re: Atheists: Fully Human?
Whats the definition of pointless here?
If for example theres evidence that says binglebop is going to rob a bank, and take many hostages in the process. Much of the local intelligence says as such, much of the calls made to other regions confirm this evidence....and the local police decide to obtain state police assistance and set up a large scale sting to stop this threat. The local public is made aware of this issue and LARGELY SUPPORT IT, as does the mayor..town council, local businesses, pretty much all of the community. In addition, all of these people AGREE that the threat is significant enough to demand this action, EVEN if it turns out the evidence is proved wrong.
Was it pointless to take this course of action after we learn the evidence was wrong and public support for it no longer exists?

Re: Atheists: Fully Human?
First, dickay, I think you've got your hands full here
Secondly, why would you rat out Bingle's plans on here? Now he has to come up with a whole new plan
-
Re: Atheists: Fully Human?
Am I the only one lost as to where that came from?

A few posts back I said that spending $ on a pointless war wasn't a wise decision when that money could be better spent elsewhere. At least that's what I assume he's referring to

I would respond, but I'm afraid I may say something that could have multiple meanings & that I'd be arguing semantics with him for the next hour

Agreed. That's the last time I tell dickay my plans for world domination over a few drinks.
I'll just wait until one of you loses their wallet and take that instead. ;) :p

Yeah, I was informed of that. It just seemed to come out of nowhere since I hadn't read the post you were referring to since the afternoon, you did not quote it, and there were a bunch of totally unrelated posts immediately in front of your post, so there's no need for the backhanded "this is not surprising" comment.

wow, my sincere apologize. somehow I did in fact post this in the wrong thread. i've got multiple pages open and somehow screwed it up. Thanks rick for finding the appropriate thread....i thought for sure this was posted like three posts after the post about pointless etc. etc. oh well, my bad. you win this one HGM.;) I know how to admit when i'm wrong...that aside, i am sincere with my apology.

Houston GM: But something would have had to create god...and something would have had to create that something...so, it's paradoxical (I think that's the word I'm looking for, but I'm not sure)
I guess it's because we don't normally think of something as always being there (and by always I mean like forever)

Re: Atheists: Fully Human?
That's what Axl Rose said! "Nothing lasts forever, even cold November rain."

That's because we are limited by our perceptions and experience. Both of those pale in comparison to the vastness of the universe.
