Never.
I don't know when, but I hope never.
i voted after 2080, before 2090, but really, I dunno. Not in my lifetime.
Maybe never, maybe some time in the distant, distant future. But if/whenever that is, I don't believe it will be in my lifetime.
Not to sound sexist, but I am with Tang
I personally dont care, if she was good enough to play with the big boys, than I would think I can adjust to that, but if she was some dump truck player and the only reason that she got a chance to play was because of her sex, than I would have more of an issue with that.
i think more people would come out to watch the game then
I'm not opposed to it, but I don't see it happening.
Would you rather see a girl play baseball that looked like Pam Anderson but sucked so bad your favorite team would lose all the time or a girl that looked like Wilford Brimley that hit like Pujols on your team and got you a World Series ring.
I believe we will see another Jackie Mitchell in the next 100 years....but I believe it will be hard for her...but I really do believe it will happen
also, to the person who created this post...womEn in baseball...
What position do you think that first woman would be likely to play? I'm guessing, 2B.
Pitcher
I voted by 2020 that we will see a woman in baseball.
In fact, here she is:
only if she had nice breasts :D
Personally, I'd insist that she be a catcher.
But really, I don't see it happening, not for the right reasons at least. Maybe as some gimick or to shut up people saying baseball is sexist. Hell, I'd support a professional womens softball league if there isn't one already. Womens college softball is pretty entertaining, I watch it whenever I see it on if there isn't any baseball on...
and she MUST wear those skirts from a leageue of their own :D
How do women have time to play baseball? Aren't they too busy in the kitchen and bedroom?
Edit: It's a joke, before pro-women people start bashing me
to the 12 that said never: how can you really say never? You can't say never on anything...you are just waiting to be proven wrong, with the ability to never be right unless the world ends
...why?
Not that I really care. Saying that you never want them to play MLB baseball is fine by me (although I'll readily admit to the opposite view, that women should play), I'm just curious about what the problem is.
I'm in agreement with you on the why?
Why shouldn't they be allowed to? If she is good enough, screw it...there was a 17 year old women who was drafted to play pro ball in Japan this past year...why can't that happen here? Hell it could happen in the next five if some of these great softball players decide to focus on getting better in baseball...or if that was a girl's dream to do it
Just because really. I don't have any reason other than I would personally rather keep it men only.
some would (not necessarily you) call that sexist. it's like those that didn't want Jackie Robinson on the field because he wasn't white...it's very similar if you think about it. You are used to it being this way...and many people don't seem to want to want to accept that possible change. I am not calling you a sexiest or anything, or trying to really compare you individually...but the idea is similar. Keeping it men only, is like saying foreigners can't play, or that blacks can't play etc etc....if you are good enough for the Major Leagues, then you have every right to try out for a team, and if you are good enough and can make it...more power to you, you just made the game better by simply being a part of it.
Please don't take that as an attack tang. But that is simply how I feel on the subject.
Yeah, excuse me for calling it sexist if your reason is "because I don't want them to."
