And yet the Mets didn't sign him. Why? Because they didn't want him? Didn't think he'd be an upgrade? Unlikely. The reason is something probably neither of us know, and it's foolish to act otherwise. We don't know all the ins and outs of the negotiations. Maybe Hudson wanted to play for the Mets, but then met with team officials and was rubbed the wrong way. Who knows. It's not as simple as "They should have signed him."
Yeah, Hudson said he wanted to play for the Royals too don't believe everything you read k thanks
EDIT: and the Royals offered him a higher base salary than the Dodgers offered him (varied reports on what the incentives were, probably less than what the Dodgers gave him, but don't know for sure)
You answered your own question then, Eddie Boy. They'd need to get rid of Castillo, and there's likely no team in baseball that wanted him. And it's not like Baseball Mogul where you can include some cash to get rid of him.
All you do is say "HI" and "HEY" 16 times in a row.
You didn't ask a question. :p
That's a good strategy!
Omar: OK Cashman, if you take Luis Castillo off of our hands, we'll include Reyes in the deal as well.
Cashman: No way, you're lying.
Omar: Seriously, we'll trade Reyes. Just agree to take Castillo for a bag of baseballs, or some coupons, gift certificates or something.
Cashman: OK, DEAL! We have Jose Reyes now too!
Omar: Jose Reyes? I meant Raul Reyes. Congratulations!
*Cashman cries*
