This is the same exact game as 2009.
Same layout, same newspaper code, everything is the same. Clay you need re do the interface and add new modes and update it to be more real. You do the same thing every year adding only small features. I wouldn't buy this game....EVER. Plus every manager has a contract with a team, they just don't sign with the team and manage until they retire. This pisses me off your milking this people for all there money and you make little effort every year.
Yeah you will probably delete my post. But the truth hurts, face it.
Re: This is the same exact game as 2009.
Too bad it's not the truth.
The interface has barely changed EVER, which is GOOD, because the interface is GREAT. A facelift for the hell of it to please the handful of people who need to see cosmetic differences in order to prevent them from whining about a lack of major changes, especially when it has the potential to be devastating considering the interface as is is excellent, is just silly.
Just because 2010 didn't include updates that YOU wanted, doesn't mean that all it was was small features. User-controlled expansion draft, League Builder, All-Time All Stars, etc. are all more than "small features."
Re: This is the same exact game as 2009.
Like I said it's only small features every year. It's basically the same as 2009. What a rip off.
Re: This is the same exact game as 2009.
Then buy it every 3 years. Or 5 years. Whatever makes you happy. Why come on and hurl accusations and attitude?
The website has a list of new features. There's a whole forum here going over every bit that was changed - good, bad, indifferent. You certainly knew what you were getting before you bought...right?
If you're familiar with the series at all, you know it's a text-based sim, and not something competing with 2K for Flashy Diving Play animation. Expecting this game to dramatically turn around in one year is...well, poor judgement. OOTP doesn't do a massive redesign that often either, from the bit I have played of it.

Once again, just because the features aren't the ones that you personally want doesn't mean that they are "only small features." I listed three new features that are certainly not small, and there's others as well.

It's "basically" not the same as 2009. Your post is laughable. There are several huge additions this year. I'm sorry that you missed all of them. You're doing the right thing though by not spending your money on something you don't want. Just don't expect your "in depth" objective post to convince many other people to do the same.

Bad enough this thread author didn't use his spellchecker, grammar checker, usage checker, or punctuation checker before he hit the submit button, he had to bring in stank attitude and unsupported opinions with him. The user-controlled expansion team function and the new roster flexibility improvements were worth the price by itself, and BM '10 has a whole lot more than that. I don't mind people advancing reasoned opinions they can defend, but I stuggle to understand anyone who advances opinion based on ignorance. The thread author either hasn't explored BM '10 at all or is disgruntled that Mogul hasn't become just another graphically-pretty, meat-absent piece of fluff that my sports-hating grandmother could turn out.

So, here's my question...if you won't ever by the game EVER, why the Hell would you even care? More than that, why would you expect the maker of a product to give a crap about complaints from someone who tells him "By the way, I will never purchase your product."
Re: This is the same exact game as 2009.
Believe me, as a long time OOTP player, you don't always want to see a complete overhaul of the interface.... because that pushed me AWAY from that series for a few versions...
Re: This is the same exact game as 2009.
except it isn't close to the same game as last year.................

It's close, but to me, that's a strength of the series. You don't have to relearn the game every year.
Re: This is the same exact game as 2009.
You just can't improve on a near prefect game engine, now can you ... lol
I just want to "see" the infield turn a double-play, not just "hear" it. Then we're talking perfection. The game is getting there, we have the baseball moving. <grin>
Re: This is the same exact game as 2009.
I want to see managers and coaches added to, but I want it done right, not just thrown in there just because Clay wants to appease those who can 't be pleased anyways.
The biggest selling point for me was controlling an expansion team
Re: This is the same exact game as 2009.
The feature for me that makes this game so much better to me as a pbp player is the ability to carry an extra pitcher instead of a bat I would hardly ever use
Re: This is the same exact game as 2009.
Newspaper code? Really??
If you think it's the same game and hate having to pay, I'm pretty sure bbm 2006 is a free download, and clearly it is the same game.
