Season 2, Episode 1
Both came by them legitimately: the Rough Riders (in Ottawa) started as a team composed of guys who rode with Teddy Roosevelt, and the Roughriders (Saskatchewan) were named for the guys who rode the logs in the river. They were in separate leagues initially, but the CFL was formed when the western and eastern leagues merged.
Just for the heck of it I relocated to Santa Fe, New Mexico. I tinkered with the city stats to make the market come in between cities like Houston and Atlanta. Santa Fe is 1000+ feet higher than Denver and the results were the early Rockies on steroids. Even with a relatively cavernous park, the team leaders in HRs were Ruthian. I went for OF's with decent power and good range and arms (power esp for the corner OF's) and Big Boppers at 1st and 3rd. The range and arm factors made for a defensive advantage at home in the OF. The visiting teams OF's weren't getting to a lot of hits to the OF making for high extra base hits and even a few inside the parkers, and my hitters were still thumping out HRs (as were theirs, so its not so much fun if you are distressed more by high ERAs than you are pleased by high Wins. Your best pitcher will win a lot of games but never contend for a Cy Young). It was a fun experiment. I renamed them the "Brujos", witchdoctors or warlocks. It seemed appropriate.:D
Santa Fe is awesome

Same strategy I used in Mexico City
Very interesting.
I've just started a new dynasty, beginning in 1984 with the California Angels.
I'm going to take this slowly, but one of my plans was to build a new ballpark as soon as I can. I think I'll actively look into moving to Calgary or Mexico City in the early 1990's as an option.
In the 2006 BM game I moved the Mariners to Winnipeg. Boy did that deplete the cash quick. LOL
I wanted to start one and move the Marlins to Boston to bring a NL team there.. but it wouldn't let me because there was already a team too close.. :( stupid..
We did a study of this using Mogul 2009 in Outahere when we expanded to 32 teams in 2018. Montreal seemed to be the top choice, and Portland was our second choice mostly due to divisional constraints. (We moved the Marlins to the AL so we could expand one team in each league)
Coachella Valley is great. It's in the Los Angeles area
