And Milton Bradley pulls up lame and is pulled from the game.
Bradley is fu(king cry baby
1st place Mariners :D 5-2
GRAND THEFT LARCENY ! ! !
Holy Cow! (to quote a late, great broadcaster for the Cubs)
Reed Johnson of the Cubs just robbed Prince Fielder of a GRAND SLAM in a 6-2 game that would've tied the game. Was definitely well over the fence.
AWESOME.
And it would've been Prince Fielder's first career grand slam.
Ain't baseball a funny game. :)
ARG, I have Prince!!!
Not enough to get it mentioned in his Wikipedia page! :p
Sure it is, I just checked. Look down further, it's there.

EDIT: Look under personality and style.
LOL, in fact, it says his autobiography was entitled "Holy Cow"
Oh, sorry, my bad.
I can't spell for crape. :D
I just know I used to watch him all through the 80's, him and Steve Stone (after Stonee retired). Back then the superstations (WGN, TBS, and a Mets one that I can't recall) were the only daily games other than the local teams (Orioles for me, when I was in country, which wasn't always a lot back then).
He used to say "Holy Cow" a lot. Trust me. I didn't even know about Phil Rizzuto, cause I've not heard him much.
Guess I should've picked a better example. :o

Great catch by Reed Johnson against Prince Fielder? TheBest and I were watching and then we had to run real fast and could only hear it on the radio
You need to pay more attention to the forums!!!!!
Jeffy is with TheBest21's sister (I think) who is pregnant (I think) but who isn't married (I think) but are getting married (I think) but Jeffy is trying to adjust to dealing with a pregnant woman (I think) but can't go into too many details (I think) because her brother posts here too (I think).
OK, maybe it's me that needs to pay more attention to the forums. :o
I am starting to wonder about Kevin Gregg even more. Lou, please for the love of god put Marmol as the closer. That is all I ask. Helluva catch by Reed Johnson though and a nice gesture by Fielder tipping his helmet to Johnson after the play.
Exactly HGM. and jeff would u spell Uecker right and not ucker.
I don't know why they don't just let them try it. give marmol a shot.....i like stuff that is ucker, or yucker....uecker....eh
Marmol takes Gregg out to the woodshed and whips him like a rented mule. On a championship caliber team (which I assume the Cubs want to be, seeing as it's been a little while) he's a middle reliever, perhaps even a long reliever. What he's doing as a closer I have no idea, other than the fact that he closed for the Marlins the last 2 years, which of course makes him an experienced closer, while Marmol has never been a closer, which of course makes him an inexperienced closer. There's only one way to solve this: make Marmol the freakin' closer and what do you know in a year or two he's an experienced closer. I just don't get why the best pitcher isn't getting used properly, but hey what do I know? I'm just a friggin' baseball sim player.
Agree totally. Gregg may have been a closer the past couple of years but he blew quite a few saves. Think he blew 9 last year. I remember him with the Angels being a good set-up man or middle relief guy and he would be better suited for that now as well. He walks way to many for my liking. Marmol has lights out stuff as he led all relievers with 114 K's last year and has looked excellent so far early on. As I said earlier he needs to be the closer sooner rather than later.
I love Lou Pinella, if he was the Cards manager, I would be plenty happy too....I would take LaRussa over him though...that's aside from my point that I will make.
I don't understand, still, why Soriano leads off. He strikes out a lot, he doesn't have a high obp....sure he leads off the game with a homer sometimes, but it doesn't make sense to have a power hitter who strikes out leading your team off. he is a number 3-5 hitter. maybe a number 2....and it's not like the Cubs don't have other players that could leadoff..Theriot, Miles, even Bradley, Fontenot could all do it as well. Soriano should be bringing guys in, not trying to get on, which he doesn't seem to even try to do. he hits doubles and homers and strikes out...his obp last year, .344 and is a lifetime .328 obp guy....those are terrible numbers for a leadoff guy, and he no longer really steals bases.19 each of the last two seasons. I don't get that, and I don't see why they don't even just let Marmol try out as closer, he pitched great last year, he is more of a dominant pitcher then Gregg as well. I don't get some of the things Lou does. Like batting 5 righties in a row etc etc etc.
Soriano bats lead off because he doesn't like batting elsewhere. Simple as that.
