Royals online community is going batsh*t insane right now.
This is the third loss that can directly be attributed to Hillman. God, our team has been playing so well, but our manager is actively making moves to hurt our chances of winning..and doing it a lot. There are too many mistakes to even name.
Yep. This is absolutely batshit insane. There is absolutely no ****ing reason to use KYLE FARNSWORTH, the man who gives up home runs by the boatloads, in a TIE GAME IN THE BOTTOM OF THE 9TH AGAINST THE TOP OF THE LEAGUE'S BEST OFFENSE'S ORDER when you have one of the BEST relievers in the business at your disposal.
Okay, now I'm raging.
There better absolutely be a reason that the Giants just removed Randy Johnson from the game. He was absolutely cruising, and had thrown just 73 pitches through 7 innings.
I'm not sure which sucks more. Having a decent bullpen and having a terrible manager or having a bad bullpen and having your manager consistently use Miguel Batista :-\Quote:

Hillman was just on radio and apparently is blaming it on the defense (Jacbos made an error). I wonder why he doesn't accept any blame for being so stupid to keep running the worst 1B ever out there when Butler has actually been pretty good there.
There is no possible justification for the series of moves Hillman just made. I count four dumb decisions, all of them getting dumber as the games goes on. Jacobs at 1B, dumb.Pulling Cruz. Stupid. I can't believe how bad I feel about a 7-5 start. We seriously should be 9-3 at least. Our offense has bad numbers, but our BABIP has been pretty bad so far compared to our LD%, and our plate approach actually seems fairly good...so there are encouraging signs. Our pitching has been magnificent, even with farnsworth it is 3.14 ERA right now (2.63 ERA without Farnsworth) More than a K per inning for the entire staff.
There are some legitimate reasons to think that the Royals can hang around in this race, given the weakness of the division......our top three starters are pretty good, the bullpen is fantastic when used right....the offense is below average, but not awful......but our manager is negating all of it. Unacceptable. Us missing a playoff spot because of our manager seems like a legit possibility....and that should never happen.

So clearly, Soria is suffering from an inability to pitch. If he were able to pitch, I’m certain we would have seen him to start the eighth inning this afternoon, this being the perfect time to give Soria a two-inning save opportunity with the Royals leading by a pair of runs.
As soon as it went down, I checked Rany's blog every ten minutes to see what he wrote. As usual, he's dead on.
Hillman is just a dumb jackass. Simple as that. Dumb for his many boneheaded decisions and a jackass for blaming the defense. It's too bad that so many of the good things going on in KC are being outweighed by this one guy's stupidity.
So, its time to rebuild the Nat's pen I guess. Four guys out, four different guys in.

The inning needs to be removed as the driving factor in these decisions. The entire closer myth is predicated on the idea that the ninth is somehow harder than the seventh and eighth, regardless of other factors. That's false, and damaging.
why the hell did we trade Brian Barton for Blaine Boyer? I know Barton didn't have much of a spot on the depth chart, but he has a lot of pop, good speed, and is a disciplined player learning how to hit....He doesn't make big mistakes....and Boyer is a reliever who can't seem to figure it out.....is there something going on that I don't know about or is Moz just trying to make it seem like he is trying to improve our bullpen by constantly getting triple a players?
