walk off hit Castillo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm also considering catching Dodgers@Cubs at Wrigley in May... but for one thing, the tickets are extremely expensive ($30ish for the worst seats in the house), and Wrigley and its inhabitants are really irritating. It's practically nothing but yuppies and douchebags. Recently I was watching a game from the 80s at Wrigley on the MLB Network... it looked amazing. Lots of mullets, TONS of dudes with no shirts on, and a bunch of people smoking. Wrigley changed a lot at some point in the last 10 years, I guess. I've caught about 3 games there since I moved to Chicago, and it's kinda cool to see a historic park, but the frat party atmosphere ruins the experience.
Wrigley sucks. You heard it here first.
Anyway, I already have tickets, through a friend with partial season Sox tickets, for one Dodger game, and I'm probably gonna buy some cheap seats tickets for the other 2. Should be a great time running into drunken Chicago Southsiders early in the afternoon with an LA cap on.
Mets win!!!
(Randy Wolf isn't that good)...
What's Pedro's phone number? What do the Jays want for Halladay? Martin (not Russell)? Lambo? DeWitt? Take it all!
You guys think the Rangers will ever, ever, EVER learn to maybe try to get some good starting pitching???? I mean...good lord, trade two of your good offensive players for quality starting pitching. Trade nelson cruz for a SP. Blalock, Marlon Byrd, somebody. I'd say it's pretty obvious your formula isn't working, Texas.
Dammit...two innings, two good opportunities to score... 3 - 0
They're prospects though. Not all of them will work out..and they seem to have a pretty good track record of getting rid of young pitchers only to watch them be good somewhere else.
With the amount of offensive talent that the Rangers have had...it's just strange to me to see how they just keep having such awful, awful pitching staffs. I mean...it's not like they are just mediocre...they're god-awful.
They probably make enough money off people paying to come in and see their team hitting the ball far and hard that they don't care that the other team is also hitting the ball far and hard.
KUBEL!!!! Grand Slam, completes the cycle. Twins up 11-9!
I would be too.
I actually talk about that team a lot with my friends. It's a real oddity the way it operates. I honestly think it's just a matter of being able to sell tickets because you can see your team hit lots of home runs, whether they win or lose.
I'm not sure there's a team in all of baseball whose fans are more accepting of the fact that they'll never win a World Series than the Rangers.
De La Rosa and Wolf are dueling.
So far, KC pitchers have 91 Ks on the year, in 89 innings.
That's sick. Unsustainable....but amazing.
Why do the Mariners enjoy handing the game over to the bullpen and giving us fans a heart attack? :'(
I do like Kelley though and hopefully Lowe/Morrow/Aardsma can have a good game tonight, although that might be asking for to much :-\
James Loney freakin' sucks.
Loney + a prospect for Halladay.
Eh, the bullpen isn't TERRIBLE, but I would rather see the starter go longer.
Shawn Kelley/Mark Lowe/Brandon Morrow are all good relievers and Aardsma/Jakabauskas/Corcoran aren't great, but not terrible either. If anything, we'll have a must stronger bullpen around mid season when Cordero/Fields/Aumont/Zimmerman join the pen. None of those last 4 are close to being 'locks' for mid-season jobs, espeically Zimmerman, but you never know.
Glad the Mariners won today, but I also admire Leyland for actually leaving Verlander out to pitch the entire game despite having one bad inning.
Loney would do the trick, along with some attractive add-ons. Shhhh, don't tell any MLB GMs, but Loney needs to be traded before everyone realizes he isn't very good. As it currently stands, he's the guy teams are always asking for, non-Kemp division.
I really doubt any team is going to give up more than the Dodgers could for Halladay (I see something along the lines of Loney/McDonald/prospect, maybe getting Overbay along with Halladay, in exchange for a good prospect), but this is a discussion/event that's a few months off. This won't happen until June or July.
If Broxton picks up this save, he is a badass, and my new favorite player.
I've heard Ricardi is one of the hardest GM's to deal with and him, and Toronto, are in love with Halladay. I think he's going to either be shopped for a very lucrative prospect package this deadline or he's going to re-sign with them regardless of how good the team is. Sort of like a Chipper Jones type thing. It would be wise to trade him, but the team probably won't.
Whether or not they won't is a whole other thing, and I agree. If I were them, I wouldn't trade him for the world. That's actually a decent organization all around, and it would serve them well to hold onto him.
But Loney and McDonald are a very, very, very fair price, if they were so inclined to trade Halladay. AND, they won't have many takers other than the Dodgers (assuming the Dodgers are willing to trade a premium for an SP), let alone a taker that would offer more.
I'm betting this won't happen... I don't think Halladay will be traded, and I don't think the Dodgers will be willing to part with Loney in the near future. So it's a moot point.
A 4 K, 5 out save. Broxton f*ckin' rules. I love this guy.
Go Dodgers! 6 in a row! :)
nats can't buy a win
Indians score 14 in the 2nd at Yankee stadium.
As a Royals fan..I wish the Indians were losing, but god I love seeing the Yanks get beat.
I'm enjoying this Yankee game quite a lot.
That was really fun to watch.
I want MLB Extra Innings this instant. Man, I would love to watch that Yankees game. Is there any shady illegal Pirating sites where I could watch it?
Chien-Ming Wang is getting shelled this year.
LMAO, one of FOXes guys just claimed "People are human"
