Bingle is a killjoy, ignore him.

The Jays are just raking again.
True.
LOL, it's just my opinion. The meaning is subjective, so I should have included that before. The ball likely means nothing to anybody besides you. I wasn't there. It's just like any other baseball aside from a few more (or less) wear and tear. I have my share of memorabilia packed away in storage in northern Minnesota, and some of it is (still) special to me, but to anybody else, it's not. It would be like buying a World Series ticket stub off of eBay and saying you were there, instead of actually having been there. To an outsider, there's no difference, because it looks the same, so only you know what makes it special or not.
If I ever caught a home run ball (which I have many times), I'd likely give it to a child. I don't see why any adult would keep one instead of giving it to a child, aside from the fact that they caught it themselves and I suppose it's more "special" if you caught it. I agree with people that say anybody over 12 shouldn't bring a glove to a game. It's the children that get more excitement about catching a foul ball or a home run ball or one that a player throws during batting practice.
it only HAS to be special to the person who has it :D
I have baseball cards taht are worth like 10 cents but they are still worth something to me :D
Raef!!! (Furcal...lead off jack!)
All of this discussion reminds me of my favorite baseball documentary on the Bonds #73 ball and the legal fight to obtain it.
Classic stuff.
Endy Chavez is ****ing fast. And Ichiro broke the hits record for a Japanese player.
I'm not worked up about it or anything, I was just explaining.
I was 13 when I got it, so that's why I still have it. If I caught one now, I'd give it away if I caught it on a bounce. If I literally caught it in mid-air, it's mine. That'd be my rule. Also, yeah, anyone over 12 bringing a glove to a game = FAIL!
I don't really have the ball to prove to anyone that I caught it....it's just nice that I still have it for the memory. The fact that I remember every possible detail about that game should tell people that I'm not making it up to those that I have told. It's etched in my memory pretty good.
Chris Jakabauskas had a great game and I've been very impressed with his overall command and that impressive curve of his. I really like RRS, but I have to say, if they decided to give the 5th spot to Jak I wouldn't mind one bit and might even suggest it.
Looks like that 5-1 start was just a fluke. :(
Though, the Marlins are a good team... and Uggla's on my fantasy team. :)
Rockies fans, is this Juan Morillo guy any good (Twins just claimed him, dumped Humber)?
Thanks. He's worth a try at least. Hopefully Andy can help him out.
anyone see those yankees today...jeter and cano are like machines right now
Nice HR just now by Soriano, 8-7 Cubs.
This Cubs/Cards game is fun...
2 on none out top 9
I didn't think Khalil Greene was good
I'm rooting more heavily against the Cubs this season than I have in any other season.
Well, the Cubs get the W today. Soriano strikes out the first three times he goes to the plate and then hits a two-run home run in the 8th to give them the lead. Like I said in one of these threads before you take the good with the bad with him and it worked out today. Marmol got to close the game today. Got me a little antsy when he walked Rasmus and then hit Pujols to start the inning. Struck out Ludwick though with heat and then got Greene to ground into a double play to end it. Zambrano certainly did not pitch his best at all but he worked into the 7th which is what the pitching staff needed to give the bullpen some rest. All in all a pretty good win.
BJ Upton is making some crazy plays with the glove
These Mets, Phillies and Red Sox games are crazy.
Baseball Rules!
Argh! The Nats blow their two game winning streak in the ninth thank to Cody Ross (2 HR's as a Dodger)
Ug, can we just bury Davis Ortiz and his 158/266/184 line and just trade for Cabrera already ...
Can I interest you in a .333/.333/.333 Juan Pierre?
Sit down, Todd Helton!
Weird lineup today with Loretta at 1st. Though Joe must be reading our thread because Kemp is batting behind Manny
Sit down, Matt Kemp!
1-0 Rox
Atkins
And by the way, Loretta *is* right behind Loney on the depth chart for 1B.
Hawpe
Tulo
I like the White Sox well enough, but they're one of the most boring teams in the majors to watch, and their announcing team is awful.
Can't wait until I can go to the Cell for Dodgers@Sox in June.
