Carpenter is injured again?
I want him in st. louie, and I could see a package sent to Oakland for him come midseason, or a offseason free agent mark.....The team is focused on the future, but Holiday could show he isn't really worth all that much and could come....we have shown we want him
Yeah, they pulled him in the third???? (I think).
He actually hurt himself batting, then came out for his warm-ups and couldn't continue.
I would disagree with Jeffy on one thing though.
Motte threw well (they did get a run though), but he hit 96 at least twice, and IIRC velocity was a problem earlier when he got shelled. It was a tough loss, they led 6-4 into the bottom of the 8th, and blew it. Then had an opportunity in the top of the 10th but didn't capitilize. Then just when it looked like they had worked out of HORRIBLE trouble in the bottom of the 10th, they gave up a 2-out hit to lose it. It was a tough game.
I just thought Motte threw well, and it was disappointing (:D) because I was hoping LaRussa might get Franklin some more saves (for fantasy purposes). But if Motte continues to throw like that, he'll be back to closing, probably before by the end of April.
Unlike in Chicago, where I still think Marmol should be the closer, but isn't. :(
Damn those strained ribcages! Oh well, at least it's not a severed knee ligament or a broken back vertebra.
OFG, I have to agree with you, AGAIN, haha.
Motte did look good, but Thompson and Kinney left so many pitches up in the zone that Arizona should have done way more to them.
You are right, St. Louis did not capitalize when they should have....and that is a big reason for the loss. Makes me wanna go back to work where there is less stress
Yeah, Kinney was....strange. He seemed to have overpowering stuff one minute, then couldn't locate anything the next (everything was right in the zone).
It was a fun game. I always go back and forth among several games (and tonight was slimmer pickens than usual), and the Orioles/Rangers and Cards/Dbacks games were fun. As was the earlier Rays/Yankees game.
I dunno. I'm a frickin' baseball addict. I didn't quit playing when I should've known better, and I can't seem to stop watching when I know better now. :(
You're no fair-weather fan, OFG, so that's a great thing.
see i am the opposite, i wish I had tried harder in high school, I could have played in college, and was given a walk on opportunity at SEMO and passed it up because I got burnt out, took me a year or two and I missed it soo badly that I have become obsessed. I wish I had tried harder then....
If I could relive my life, knowing then what I know now....Everyone of course says that
LOL, don't know if it's a great thing or not, but thanks man.
FWIW (not much), I think you're alright in my book too.
But I did forget one important game.
I kept switching (not often enough apparently) to the A's/Red Sox game. But this has turned from an A's apparent win into a dog-fight too.
Baseball. Gotta love it man.
And now, like the Cards earlier tonight, the Red Sox have an opportunity in the top half of the tenth, with Big Papi coming to the plate.
Zeigler is SO overrated.
EDIT: But he did get Big Papi.
Still can't believe he was/is considered a MLB closer. I've not seen him as much as others, but just because he has a unique delivery point (which will eventually be picked up on by big league hitters) doesn't make him special. His stuff, the few times I've seen him, are.......meh.
