I'll tell you that there's absolutely no fricken' way to tell you who the MVP was based off just that information you provided.

AL MVP: Mark Teixiera
NL MVP: Albert Pujols
AL Cy Young: Josh Beckett
NL Cy Young: Dan Haren
AL ROY: Matt Weiters
NL ROY: Tommy Hanson
AL Manager of Year: Ron Gardenhire
NL Manager of Year: Bobby Cox
I don't think he was (my vote would be for Cliff Lee), but the reason is...the offense is provided from a second basemen plus solid defense there is more valuable than, for example, a very good power-hitting left fielder that sucks on defense and missed a month of the season. He was second in Value Wins among position players. He was third in WARP (Wins Above Replacement Player) in the AL, behind Cliff Lee and Mariano Rivera, tied with Roy Halladay. He was second in Value Over Replacement Player in the AL among position players, a tad behind Alex Rodriguez. He was tied for 6th in Win Shares among position players.
The list goes on and on and on.
Jon Lester was better.Quote:
Give me a reason Dice-K wasn't the Red Sox's MVP
The Royals will be this years Rays
The stench of stupid is getting strong in here...
Uh, no. Lester was the best pitcher on the Red Sox because he threw 210 innings with a 144 ERA+ and strong peripherals. Daisuke Matsuzaka pitched 40 less innings with a 159 ERA+ with terrible peripherals.
Than you're oblivious. I also wouldn't call somebody a diehard baseball fan if they're only exposure to other teams beside their favorite is Monday Night Baseball.Quote:

No they won't. They will be continue the trend of improving by a few games like they have the past few seasons. They have an outside shot at the division only because there appear to be no real strong teams in the division..but we won't be anywhere near as good as the Rays were last year...nor will they improve their record by as many games, or be the serious playoff threat that the Rays were.
The Royals can win 86 games IF things go right for them.

But because this is a predictions thread I have a couple. Focusing primarily on major awards.
AL MVP: Evan Longoria TB
AL CY: Roy Halladay TOR
NL MVP: Albert Pujols STL
NL CY: Rich Harden CHC
WS Matchup: Los Angeles Angels v. Los Angeles Dodgers

injury plagued sure, but when he's out there he's one of the best and I'll take 100 innings of Rich Harden over 200 innings of any mediocre pitcher.
I'd take Harden over any Cardinals pitcher (who's their ace? Adam Wainwright? Chris Carpenter?)
