Questions about stadium editor
I'm just not getting this right and help doesn't explain it.
When I input the name of the ballpark, should this automatically show that stadium? (Assuming the stadium with the same name is in the pbp folder.) What about the next line Stadium Photo? I've also tried to write in the name of the file here, and sometimes it will change or clear itself. Any help with this would be appreciated.
Re: Questions about stadium editor
I'm not sure I understand your question. Could you clarify for us what you're asking?

I think it would help if there were some step-by-step instructions on EXACTLY how to get stadium affects and photos into the game.
I tried to find one, but the one I found isn't clear enough, because I just tried following his steps and it didn't work.
I think Rich would benefit from such a step-by-step explanation. I think a lot of folks would. I've now forgotten how the hell I did it (somehow I just copied the photos into the stadium directory and they showed up, as far as I can remember, but I just tried to create a new game in 2010 and that didn't work either).

They just showed for me also when I tried the 2009 demo. But 2010 seems to be different. There's actually a folder for stadiums but that didn't seem to do anything. Or maybe I did something wrong. I like your idea about a step-by-step instruction.
Re: Questions about stadium editor
Oh man that would be awesome, been fiddling around now for an hour and can't seem to figure it out, seems to me I didn't have any problems doing it for 2009. It makes the PBP so much nicer
Re: Questions about stadium editor
There, I got it. I KNEW it was probably something stupid I was doing.
Rich, all the stadium photo files go into this directory:
Baseball Mogul 2010/Skins/Sports Mogul(or the name of your custom skin if you use a custom skin)/News/PBP
They DON'T go in the directory:
Baseball Mogul 2010/Skins/Sports Mogul/Stadiums
Once you put them in the proper directory, then they will show up, as long as you have them named properly.
Re: Questions about stadium editor
How do you change the stadium that a team uses? I can't find it anywhere...
I downloaded a stadium package, and some of the stadiums have day and night photos, and some don't. The ones that don't have both will default to the generic one. In this case I want to use the same pic for both day and night, but I can't find where that is set. Couldn't find it in the help either.

I was able to get the BM 2009 stadiums copied from that nice person who made all the images in his .zip file, but when I copied the same (114) files into the exact folder location ( C:\Sports Mogul\Baseball Mogul 2010\Skins\SportsMogul\News\PBP\2009 Baseball Stadiums ) it doesn't do any good, and I see the same generic stadium. :(
Maybe the new 2010 game makes the old file names obsolete and you have to label them by a different name for 2010 to recognize them?
EDIT: the directory did NOT have the critical 'thumbs.db' file which I subsequently added. That fixed it!

Hmmm. That's where I have them. I'm playing at "Milwaukee County Stadium" and it doesn't show up. Maybe it will in a day. Does it take time for new stadiums to register?
Re: Questions about stadium editor
Try refreshing your skin.
If you want 1 pic to show up as day and night rename one day and one night and it should work

How do you refresh your skin?

If I'm reading your post right, you've put them in:
Mogul 2010\Skins\SportsMogul\News\PBP\2009 Stadiums
but they should be in:
Mogul 2010\Skins\SportsMogul\News\PBP
They don't go into a "2009 Stadiums" subdirectory inside the PBP directory.
They go in the PBP directory. Yes, there will be lots of files in that directory.

Well, you need to look at the name of the FILES too.
For example, if the files are called "PBP-Stadium-County Stadium" but in the game the stadium is listed as "Milwaukee County Stadium", then you need to either change the name of the FILE to "PBP-Stadium-Milwaukee County Stadium" Or, the easiest, is to go to Stadium Editor (must be in Commish mode) and change the name of the Braves??? or Brewers stadium from "Milwaukee County Stadium" to just "County Stadium." The names of the FILES have to match the names in the game.
I say it's easier to change the ones in the editor because that way you only have to make ONE change. If you change the files, you will need to change like 3 files because there is a PBP-Stadium-County Stadium.jpg (which is the photo), AND a PBP-Stadium-County Stadium.INI, AND a PBP-Catcher-County Stadium.jpg. So you would have to change the name of the file in three places whereas you only need to change it once inside the game.
Whew. Got long winded again. :o
Sorry, hope it helps some.

No, it doesn't take any time to register.
Do you also have critical 'thumbs.db' file in that same directory?
Makes all the difference if it works or not!

Doesn't make any difference, I just figured out.
I was missing that critical 'thumbs.db' file, and that got it to work regardless that they all reside in their own 2010 Stadium' subdirectory.
EDIT: It might make a difference, but I merely copied the actual files to the 'PBP' directory, and it made it *appear* to be a subdirectory, but it really isn't one there at all.
It just looks that way.
