Rate my Fantasy Team II

OK, 10 team league, rotisserie, snake style draft;

Offensive categories; R, H, HR, RBI, SB, BB, K, TB, E, AVG,
Pitching categories; W, L, SV, ER, K, GIDP, ERA, WHIP, K/BB, BSV

positions; C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, CI, MI, OF, OF, OF, OF, Util, SP, SP, SP, SP, SP, RP, RP, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, DL, DL, DL

Strategy: I usually dont' take pitching until late but everyone was apparently using that same tactic, so after grabbing Reyes 3rd overall I went with Santana and then CC on the way back around. I then looked towards solidifying the positions without alot of depth early (C, 2B) and went back to pitching and found what I believe to be value well rounded offensive players later. My last pick in the draft, Chris Carpenter...is IMO going to end up being the best selection. I have him coined for comeback player of the year and his spring thus far has been superb. David Price kind of fu(ked me..i'm likely going to have to release him and sign George Sherrill who I think is available.

yeah, i'm leaning that way because sherrill doesn't provide me much. however, these leagues are often won by acquiring the "surprise" player within the first few months, usually via FA sometimes via trade. Its likely that if Price is still on the farm when that player becomes apparent that he will be released to open that slot.

It's a pretty small bench, which sucks. I don't think Price is going to spend much time down there. I'd say AT MOST two months, but likely less. Although, I suppose it does hinge on the performance of whoever they choose as their fifth starter between Hammell and Niemann.

the fear is that *most* experts claim to go after hitting first (which I agree with). However, I am pretty active and its rotisserie style, I think I can make up for loss points offensively with activity AND I don't believe I overreached for the pitchers, I think I took them pretty much at their projected draft slots.

The offense could use a power bat, but the pitching is great!

That's an incredibly pitching staff, dickay! Wow! And yes, if you can hang on to Price he could pay off rather large later on.

How did you get Chad Qualls so late? :eek:

Even if Hammell or Niemann are pitching very well they should still bring Price up. He has the most upside and he's not gonna be learning anything in AAA. I've also heard a lot of bad things about Niemann :(
