Re: Rate my fantasy team/suggestions?
I'd pick up Daniel Murphy over Nady personally, he's been talked about as taking over 2B and if he were to log a few days and get 2B eligibility that would skyrocket his value not to mention he's still a fine 4th OF. Batting second behind Jose Reyes should mean he sees a high amount of fastballs and many R/RBI in the Mets lineup.
Also Yahoo came out with an article that I somewhat agree with
http://sports.yahoo.com/fantasy/blog...fantasy,149860
Mike Fontenot is probably buried deep in the players left, but hitting in the Cubs lineup at the #5/#2 slot with his great plate discipline will probably yield some nice results. You may want to grab him as a backup.

another fine choice as well.

Also, I would never want Ibanez over Crawford. Ever.
This is why people lose at fantasy, because they put personal opinion of player value over actual fantasy value. Crawford is a much more valuable MLB player, however just using your "projections"
Ibanez first, Crawford second.
AVG: .284/.293
HR: 23/11
R: 82/79
RBI: 99/79
SB: 2/65
Ibanez now in the NL, on a team surrounded with more talent is likely to go up in his numbers, but even with the projections you provided IMO Ibanez is the better choice. I don't value SB much in fantasy as they can often be found throughout the season, and I definetly wouldn't give them much value with players like Ichiro and Furcal already on my team. That said, I do feel Crawford will produce numbers close to or even slightly better than your projections (except for SB which he hasn't hit 60 in quite a few years), and would take Crawford before Ibanez in a draft in which my team wasn't already set.
Ibanez's fantasy value has been grotesquely undervalued for years. Crawford has been overvalued.
curious...how do you come up with 65SB for Crawford when he's coming off injury and hasn't had over 60 in at least 3 years. ** check that...he's NEVER had over 60??
Re: Rate my fantasy team/suggestions?
What about Encarnacion? All this talk about Ibanez over Crawford but Encarnacion isn't anything amazing.

Crawford is a MUCH more valuable fantasy player. Crawford's ADP is 28 on Mock Draft Central. Ibanez isn't in the top 75. You're greatly undervaluing stolen bases.

Factor in age, and he's not likely to go up. If anything, he's more likely to go down.

65 was runs. 36 was SB.

I like him. He's poised for a breakout soon.

Proves my point that he's greatly overvalued. Statistically, Ibanez has been a better fantasy value for at least the past 3 to 4 seasons. Considering your only talking 36SB now, thats only 34 more than what you have Ibanez at, and Ibanez's HR, R, and RBI value is much more significant.

I think Crawford has gotten a year older too coming off an injury plagued season. I realize he's at his peak years though he's already had quite a few seasons in the pros and has shown no signs of significant improvement from year to year. Also his "plate approach" hasn't exactly been superb either.
Anyway, i said i'd take crawford over ibanez with everything else equal in a fantasy draft, and thats largely because of his "percieved" value. Most mock drafts however rank ibanez as much lower than Crawford. You're typically a more intelligent baseball analyst than your statement about Crawford easily being a better choice than Ibanez. Surely you can admit that the gap in fantasy value hasn't been anywhere near as great as those mock drafts have made it in recent years. Again, Craw has been overrated, Ibanez has been underrated.

who said anything negative, or positive for that matter, about encarnacion?
Re: Rate my fantasy team/suggestions?
I like Encarnacion too. Plus he's one of the few lone sources of power on my team. Howard is the only 40+, Encarnacion, Atkins, Kemp, Wieters, Ibanez, Nady are all possibilities for 20+, but Encarnacion could easily jump to 35.

Or it proves the point that Crawford is better.

Try 1 of the last 4, 2008.
Ibanez was ranked 59th overall in 2008 to Crawford's 199 because Crawford missed a lot of time to injury. In 2007, Crawford ranked 25th, Ibanez 116. (Yahoo rankings)
I don't know how to get the rankings from before that, but in 2006 Crawford hit 7 more home runs and stole 8 more bases (compared to 2007) while holding steady elsewhere, compared to Ibanez hitting 10 more HR and 18 more RBI over his 2007 total. Crawford was likely around the 25-30 mark, and Ibanez in the 70-80 area.
2005, Ibanez basically repeated his 2007 season (which he ranked 116th) swapping some RBI for runs...Crawford repeated his 2007 season with a few more runs and HR and 4 less SB. Again, Crawford probably ranked around the 25-30 mark, and Ibanez around 115.

"Only 34 SB"? Also, Crawford beats him in runs.

Not according to how they've ranked the past few years.

My point...the rankings overvalue crawford and undervalue ibanez. statistically, i'll take what ibanez has given over craw.

Yes only 34...and you may want to review your own projections regarding runs.

You're severely undervaluing stolen bases, which the statistical rankings do not. I find it hard to believe that the statistical rankings and every fantasy expert and most fantasy players all have it wrong in regards to Crawford and Ibanez, and you're the only one that's got it right.

When I said Crawford beats him I was talking about in the past few years, sorry, and I wouldn't call it in favor of either of them based on the projections considering it's a 3 run difference.
