Looks like the Marlins will be getting a new stadium in 2012. Will be known as the Miami Marlins.

Why not the Fort Lauderdale Marlins of Miami? The stadium is really not even a stone's throw, after all -and then they can pretend to cater to two markets.

Oh, right, because only the Angels are that annoying.

Well, I guess if they wanted to pretend to cater to more than one market they could've just called themselves the Florida Marlins and pretended to cater to all the markets in the entire state................... oh wait, just like those annoying Angels they already tried that one. :p

I think one of the concessions for getting a new stadium was the name change. Anyway, good to see the Marlins are committed to staying in South Florida. Now, if Loria would open up his checkbook...
