Angels in the Outfield, duh :p
Fever Pitch? For Love of the Game?
Eight Men Out for me. Pretty much anything but The Natural.
Well if I was ranking those
1. Bull Durham
2. The Natural
3. Major League
4. Bad News Bears
5. A League Of Their Own
6. The Sandlot
7. The Fan
(The only reason I have The Natural below Bull Durham, is cause of the rather Hollywoodized ending not staying true at all to the book.)
BUT you left out many other great baseball films.
61*
8 Men Out
Long Gone
Pride Of The Yankees
Bang The Drum Slowly
Bingo Long Traveling All-Stars & Motor Kings
Soul Of The Game
Field Of Dreams (talk about touching on what makes Baseball special)
Day Of Independence (a very short film, touching on Baseball WWII and internment)
the answer is most certainly not the fan
Which one? :D
Don't forget ESPN's miniseries The Bronx Is Burning. Here's a thread about it.
Well I wasn't asking about the greatest baseball film ever, because I haven't seen all of them. Being fairly young I haven't even seen many of the older ones. So that is why I just inquired about the opinions on which film was better. I asked because I just watched Major League and I thought about making a franchise out of the characters in the movie. Then I thought how would they do against other baseball movie rosters.
Major League is awesome. Field of Dreams is cool too. I just ordered *61 on Netflix
ESPN's Bronx is burning is one of my favorites.
Soul of the game as well as Bull Durham are some of my favorites. Most baseball movies are pretty good. I haven't seen fever pitch yet.
definitely the bad news bears and major league. i've never seen the natural or bull durham.
Well with the easy access of media these days..Time to get on with your baseball historical movie watching. lol
IRL I doubt the Major League team would of done much. Considering Jake Taylor even making through an entire season probably wouldn't of happened, Dorn was more or less a middle of the road fielder who was a decent hitter. The one power hitter Serrano, couldn't hit a curve ball if it was going 40 miles an hour.
But in the movies everything worked out and they had chemistry.
Bull Durham. Hands down. Case closed. :D
Field of dreams!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bull Durham, followed closely by Field of Dreams and a distant third would be Eight Men Out for me.
Of those listed in the op, Bull Durhan, easily. Though I haven't seen The Sandlot or The Fan.
Was The Fan the one with Robert DeNiro and (Wesley Snipes????). I remember one with DeNiro about a fan who basically goes bonkers.....well I won't say anymore. Just wondering if that was the movie because I can't remember the name of the movie with DeNiro that I'm thinking of.
I'm actually putting Bobby Rayburn and Juan Primo in a dynasty.
