The All-Steroids Team: A Look at a Team of All-Juiced Players
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1...juiced-players
I found this allegation interesting:
"First base
Starter: Albert Pujols
Wow. First base is stacked. A home run derby between these guys all in their prime would be nuts. The nod has to go to Albert Pujols though. I know it pains many to hear good ole Al was on the juice, but its starting to appear that way. I felt betrayed when I heard the news just because I routinely draft the guy in fantasy baseball.
Although I know it has neither been confirmed or denied I felt Al deserved a spot on the team.
Albert has won two of the last four NL MVP awards with numbers that were just off the charts. In 2005 he hit 41 HRs, had a .330 average, added 117 RBI, and 16 stolen bases (which was tops for all first basemen in 2005).
Pujols has been an All-Star in seven of his eight seasons and has won four Silver Sluggers, and one Gold Glove. He was also named Rookie of the Year in 2001 and the 2004 NLCS MVP."

Based on....?? I mean don't get me wrong. I'm not one of those 'absolutly believe someone is innocent until irrefutably proven guilty guys'....I'll throw McGwire under the bus in a second, but Pujols? Based on what?

Re: The All-Steroids Team: A Look at a Team of All-Juiced Players
He felt betrayed when he "heard the news"? What news? Oh, that fake lie of a "report" that the news "reported" before the Mitchell Report was released?
"Nomar Garciaparra is one of the bigger question marks when it comes to steroid use. When I began the research for this article I would see his name listed on some steroid lists while not on others." - What "steroid lists" is he on? I guess by "research" this guy means "made **** up off the top of my head."
What a joke. This is why being "published" on Bleacher Report is meaningless. Any fool can get any nonsense posted there.

Re: The All-Steroids Team: A Look at a Team of All-Juiced Players
Wow .. crap like this barely deserves to be mentioned.
-
Re: The All-Steroids Team: A Look at a Team of All-Juiced Players
But ... this obviously is just his way to foward an agenda.
Quote:
This is the first part of a three-piece story. It examines what an All-Star team made entirely of players who have been named as steroid users, have admitted to steroid use, or been highly suspected of steroid use would look like.
The next part will examine those players who have not been implicated in any steroid allegations and the final part will examine which All-Star team has the advantage.
Seeing how conspiracy theorists link everyone who does well to steroids.

Re: The All-Steroids Team: A Look at a Team of All-Juiced Players
I like how in the comments section the author says he might include Pujols on the clean team.
Uh.

Re: The All-Steroids Team: A Look at a Team of All-Juiced Players
Interesting. Im just waiting for the February '10 speech of the next Yankee who cries and says what a bad boy he has been. 07- Giambi. 08 - Pettitte. 09- Rodriguez. 10 - Jeter? I dont trust any of these overpaid asses any more.

this one is retarded. I dont remember what year, but Nomar was still with the Sox and on his way with ARoid and Jeter as a HOF track SS. Then he went on SNL 5 months after the season was over. It was the first installment of the Jimmy Falen Nomaaah skit. Nomar rips off his shirt and looked like a pro body builder, just months after having a normal physique. I remember thinking right then that that boy was on roids. 100% and a career ruiner for him.

Guess so. Gehrig too. He put up some Pujols like numbers himself. I mean I guess it was also the juice that caused the ALS, since it causes everything else.
Too bad. I had previously annointed Gehrig to be beyond reproach.:(

Let it be known now, if you have or have had a great season you are on steroids. So if your a major league player and you feel like your on pace for an outstanding season...turn it down a notch. We don't want no allegations coming in.

While it wouldn't surprise me, the first thing i thought when seeing that pic on Sports Illustrated was "That's it? Look at those skinny arms. And I got muscles like that just from being a stock-boy, when I was a kid."

Why limit it to "great seasons"? How about the argument that anyone good enough to play in the majors must be on 'roids? Might as well include all of AA and AAA while you are at it. All of the Japanese League. The Dutch Olympic team. Etc.

HGM you know darn well if a journalist thinks it, it must be true:rolleyes:

This is not a "journalist" lol

Re: The All-Steroids Team: A Look at a Team of All-Juiced Players
Just another way in which the cheaters have brought the game down a level. A generation of players will have anything they accomplish in the game questioned, did they do it because they juuced?
The Olympics got one thing right, if you test positive your name, records are wiped clean from the books. Its as if you never competed.
Maybe going forward baseball needs to have a zero tolerance policy, you test positve your gone, your stats are gone, your never played the game.
Have fun now you steriod apologists......lol.

I think we all know the Dutch aren't on Roids....Maybe a different substance that unless you happen to be a reggae musician. Wouldn't be anywhere near considered a PED.
On that note, time to start checking out airline tickets for my 3rd trip to Am'Dam

It's a way of commenting...that's pretty common here on the internet. But, fine, let's redo this then since you can't be a little light-hearted:

It is the media that has brought the game down a level by questioning everybody, not the "cheaters."

I wonder if people really understand, if you want to take away stats from a game that is basically constructed on stats.
Also if you want to take away stats from players for PED's, then what about the players doing uppers in the 50's and 60's.
And of course Dock Ellis and his acid no hitter.
This is whole era is becoming more laughable..and it's the media that rides some high horse as to what is right and wrong, that is living off this.
Sorry.
Just tired of it.
There are better discussions to have than PED's
-
Re: The All-Steroids Team: A Look at a Team of All-Juiced Players
Another reason I think it is laughable to talk about wiping the record books and getting rid of all steroid stats is the clean players. Okay ARod did steroids. Wipe his stats. But what about the clean players (especially the pitchers) that played against him. If he hit a game-winning home run while on the roids...and we wipe all his home runs. Do we take away a loss or even give a win to the pitcher? No. That is why talking of changing any of the stats is ridiculous. Players used PEDs. It happened. Therefore it is a part of history, like it or not.
