I think they need offensive line help more, though...they had no offense when their running game vanished, and they couldn't run because the blocking was awful.Skins are possible, The Titans are possible unless the numbers go too high. Atlanta's not a bad possibility. The more I think about it, though, the more I think the Panthers might end up with him (unless the Skins offer outright stupid money).
Panthers have to trade Pep, after likely releasing some players as well, before they can be in the mix (they're in bad cap shape right now) and they have bigger problems in the secondary than they do on the d-line. If they can trade Pep for a CB or a safety, then I could see him as a possibility. The Bucs may not think they're in rebuild mode, but to most people it looks that way after releasing a handful of their most productive players & having McCown lined up as their current starter at QB. Texans aren't in bad cap shape, so I don't see why that's a bad move at all for them. Personally, I think the Falcons & Texans are the best fits for him, but as I said I think he'll end up as a Skin. I will go ahead and say there is ZERO chance he ends up with the Cowboys, that much I'm positive of

It's not that he's a bad fit for Houston, it's that they have a much bigger need for a cornerback or a linebacker other than DeMeco Ryans who can actually make a tackle. Actually, with Anthony Weaver getting the boot they need a defensive end more than a defensive tackle. Oh, and as for Tampa's cap...they actually have between $30-$40 mil in space...they have one of the biggest chunks of cap room in the league to play with. They can afford to throw a pile of it on a guy to rebuild the D around, then use the draft to put talent around him. Carolina's not actually in that bad of shape, though...yes...they would have to line up a trade partner for Peppers...if not before the trade, afterwards to give them room to do anything else.

they also need 5-7 more starters after today...and I don't recall seeing one of their released players being a DT, just think they need a few receivers, a qb, a rb (williams & graham both coming off injuries, williams for the second year in a row), & a few linebackers with at least 3 of those 5-6 players being needed to start (meaning they either won't be cheap or won't be good)...long story short, i just think the bucs are further away from being a playoff team than any of the mentioned teams in this thread (cept maybe Jax) and have the most holes to fill out of the teams mentioned (again, cept maybe Jax)

Oh, you're right...I do agree with you. I could see them looking back and realizing that defense was always built around that great defensive tackle, though, and deciding to go sign him up.
Ugh...Jacksonville...my team is a disaster. Receivers...average at best. O-line...terrible. D-line...half there. Coach...terrible.

The receiving corps wouldn't be as disappointing if they all weren't former first round picks

Tell me about it. Reggie Williams was a really stupid reach...they wanted a receiver so they massively over-reached for one. Matt Jones wasn't a bad gamble...unfortunately, he finally started to pan out the same year we found out he's a raging cokehead.
Re: Report: Haynesworth to the ‘skins
Well, Washington just threw an asinine amount of money at DeAngelo Hall. 6 years $54 million, $22.5 million of that being signing bonus.
Re: Report: Haynesworth to the ‘skins
Haynesworth 7 yrs/100 million dollars
Wow.
Largest contract ever for not a Quarterback.
Wow.
Re: Report: Haynesworth to the ‘skins
So, they're basically done just on those 2. The rumor was that signing Haynesworth would cost them Jason Taylor, too, so I'd be interested to see what the Hell they'd do to replace HIM.
Looks like Bart Scott is a Jet...that's a nice signing.
And Stacy Andrews is an Eagle...also a nice signing.
Re: Report: Haynesworth to the ‘skins
Broncos already signed 2 RBs, Buckhalter & Arrington. Buckhalter is injury-prone (though good when healthy) & Arrington is a much better kick returner than a RB. Heard they're also close to signing Reynaldo Hill, Jabar Gaffney, & another former Eagle Brian Dawkins (who would be the best signing out of the bunch in my opinion)
Re: Report: Haynesworth to the ‘skins
I vaguely remember Haynesworth saying that his free agency decision wouldn't come down to money. Not that I believed him or anything. I am not even busting his chops here as that is the politically correct thing to say, but I just find it somewhat funny.
As for the deal, $100 million dollars isn't good for someone who can't play 5 series' in a row without needing to get oxygen.

Frankly, someone offers you the mass of guaranteed money Washington threw down at his feet, YOU TAKE IT.
Of course, they're no closer to winning a Super Bowl than they were before. They're still not great on the corner, they have no replacement for Marcus Washington at SLB, and they're still too reliant on inconsistent wide receivers. Plus, Portis is getting to that point where one of these years he just isn't going to have 'it' anymore.
Re: Report: Haynesworth to the ‘skins
Yeah I gotta say this one doesn't suprise me one bit.
