Who do you consider the all-time Home Run King?
Interesting poll on ESPN, so I was curious on the feelings of everybody on the forums here. Who do you consider the all-time home run king? Barry Bonds or Hank Aaron? Share why, if you choose.

Re: Who do you consider the all-time Home Run King?
There's only one answer to this question, and it's incredibly sad that that answer is considered the answer by less than one-quarter of the ESPN poll participants.

Re: Who do you consider the all-time Home Run King?
Umm the guy that has the most homers which would be Bonds whether we like it or not.

I was surprised by the results of the poll on ESPN!

Re: Who do you consider the all-time Home Run King?
I find their polls, much like their programming to be, well, invalid.
-
Re: Who do you consider the all-time Home Run King?
Hank Aaron, I think we can attribute at least 8 of Bonds' HRs to roids.
-
Re: Who do you consider the all-time Home Run King?
Although if you wanted to really think about it. All time home run king. Oh had far more home runs (albeit in what is considered a lesser league) and unfortunately they did not keep anywhere near accurate records for any of the so called numbers Josh Gibson put up to be considered valid.

And how many of Aaron's home runs can we attribute to amphetamines?

Idiot.
And Aaron probably did roids too, just like many of his teammates did.

Re: Who do you consider the all-time Home Run King?

You think that overcoming fatigue and improving reaction time don't make you better and/or give you more opportunity to hit home runs?

1) So you expected him to hit 50 or so HR last season (the only year he was arguably "blackballed")
2) I don't know why it's surprising that no team wanted an expensive, aging, media whore, me-first, cancerous to the team mediocre OF.

Of all the things to call him, "mediocre OF" is not one of them.

It's a sign of the apocalypse when I have to agree with Metsguy in a kinda refutation of a point HoustonGM was making.
And as I've said, you get the same pep from a couple of No-Doz.
AND further, the ephedrine in legal diet pills back then were sold over the counter and are/were a lot less harsh then speed.

Re: Who do you consider the all-time Home Run King?
Barry Bonds.
When someone can, beyond a shadow of a doubt:
1) prove that Barry Bonds was on steroids
2) prove that steroids caused 7 extra home runs for Bonds
3) prove that the 7 extra home runs were caused during Bonds' time on steroids
4) come up with an algorithm to adjust ALL MLB statistics for ALL players that were "enhanced/dampened" on account of illegal and/or MLB-banned substances
5) adjust said statistics accordingly and across the board
6) prove that Hank Aaron did not benefit from illegal and/or MLB-banned substances, and that any benefits he did have would not have caused him to surpass Ruth or Bonds
7) adjust ALL past statistics accordingly, based on use of illegal and/or MLB-banned substances, across the board
... then we can talk.

How can you be so sure he didn't?
How do you know his name isn't one of the other 103, aside from ARod, that we don't yet see?

He did not gain 225 pounds.
Also, most players will look a lot bigger at 35 than they did at 20.

Stop posting, seriously. You make yourself sound even more foolish with every post.
Post pictures of yourself, or your own father, when he was 18-21 compared to when he was 35-41.
