Arrogant, lack of ethics???? I was legitimately curious about you're take on when gaining an edge on the competition was a legitimate endeavor and when it's not, that's all. I didn't make a judgement statement anywhere in that post you quoted, and I challenge you to point out a judgement drawn in that post. It was a question. Do you enter into every conversation as though it's an argument?
This is precisely why I chose not to get into this discussion. At least when I use arrogance I have no problem admitting it. Of late, in multiple threads you've shot in with numerous arrogant posts similar to the one I quoted previously which you then when called upon play the innocent little boy card. Your motives were quite clear, regardless of how you want to twist and present them now after the fact.

Dude, if you would only drop the last two letters of your name it would be such a perfect fit.
I rest my case.

And when speaking of lack of ethics, you should probably be very careful yourself, very careful indeed. You jump on others (me included) with holier than thou posts while you've admitted "tricking" the system yourself in certain situations. What, it's ok for you but not others?? Hmm, let's see, what's the word I'm looking for here??????
Have no idea what you're talking about here....but the holier than though theme is one I had you pinned on???
All this aside........i apologize to all (OFG included) for this thread derailing. I'm truly done now ;)
Re: Daryl Strawberry is writing a book

Really??? You can read my mind, and determine my motives? Now who is being arrogant. But with that ability, I might suggest using it on others instead, because you're going to be sorely disappointed in reading mine.
As for playing the innocent little boy card, I'll gladly admit when I'm being a smartass and when I'm not. [smartass]If it's too hard to keep up, I'll try to remember to use [smartass] [/smartass] in the future[/smartass].
And in this particular thread I wasn't, or at least thought I wasn't, as I was genuinely curious about what constitutes "crossing the line" in terms of gaining an edge on the competition. I, unlike you, am unable to read minds, and that is why I was asking. However, from now on, I will try and refrain from asking, and instead go ahead and attempt to read your mind and attribute my own version of what your motives are. After all, it could be fun.

What I'm talking about is you've admitted to doing things some would consider "unethical" or "cheating" to gain an advantage, and so it comes off as holier than thou when you then call others out on being "unethical" or "cheating." And no, this paragraph wasn't being a smartass, though this last sentence might be.

Fair enough, I'll leave it now too. And I'll apologize for a couple of smartass comments too, but, even if you don't believe me, the quote you picked that started this mess really wasn't one. I was actually curious. And for that, I'm sorry too.

Admittedly, i'm not a mind reader though I wish I was. Maybe I did misinterpret your message, though in defense it gets difficult sorting through sarcasm. I'll take your word for it although after reading it over I don't think I misread anything, only i guess misinterpreted the meaning. Thats not an insult in anyway...i can be a sarcastic ******* just the same. In fact, when I feel sarcasm flying my way I make it a point to try and outdo it...not a good trait.
Anyhow, i'll apologize if I misunderstood your intentions. Thats about as big of an olive branch as I've got right now.
Re: Daryl Strawberry is writing a book
I heard this new book will have a mirror on the inside of the cover, along with a blade. :p
Re: Daryl Strawberry is writing a book
Although much has been written about the Met's and their crazy ways. I think I might actually read Strawberry's book. He definitely had an amazing talent that was blown on both drugs and pure laziness. He was actually someone who thrived in New York.
Definitely one of those "What could of been careers".

Agreed. Seems to happen a lot on these forums.
I'll probably read Strawberry's book. Seems like an interesting read on the inner drug use of baseball.
But it does remind me of the SNL sketch "Bad Stuff 'Bout The Mets by Chico Escuela"
Tom Seaver-He once borrow Chico's soap and no give it back.
Re: Daryl Strawberry is writing a book
I'm surprised he could even write his name much less a book
Re: Daryl Strawberry is writing a book
I quit reading the title at 'writing'

It's not like 95% of these guys write any of it...that's why they're always 'authored' by the athlete and his co-writer (the guy who actually does the writing).
