Hmm, McShay said his stock was rising from his workouts today but I guess SI saw it different.
I didn't see him going #1 I thought Stafford was better plus I started to get on the Stafford wagon when the only defense for Sanchez Bill Plaschke could muster on ATH was "he's got swagger".
Not that ol Bill is a smart man, he's actually one of the worst imo but come on. Swagger? Thats all you got?

Pat White also ran a 4.55.
Love Shanahan or hate him he knew running backs, eto. He couldn't find a defensive player to save his life but running backs he was pretty decent (Davis is a big one. Clinton Portis, Mike Anderson). So Torain, pending his rehab should be alright.
Young will also be battling and I think Hillis has a legit shot...its becoming a 2 back league and I think a mix of speed and Hillis could be good for the Broncos.
Well, not sure where you heard that about Sanchez. Here is what I read from
Tony Pauline
Mark Sanchez/QB/USC: Sanchez struggled most of the day and may have pushed himself out of the draft's first 10 selections. He was accurate throwing between the numbers, but Sanchez sprayed the outs and was very inaccurate with his deep outs. Most worrisome is Sanchez showed marginal arm strength and on a number of occasions receivers were slowing up in their deep patterns as his passes were underthrown.
and from Don Banks
-- Southern Cal's Sanchez did nothing to make anyone believe he's top 10 material at this point. He struggled quite a bit on passes he threw outside the numbers, near the sidelines, and only looked great on slant patterns. I expect any potential chatter about Sanchez being a real option for the Lions at No. 1 to all but evaporate unless he has a boffo pro day workout next month.
Sounds like he has not much arm strength and missed on some passes...Plus the experience thing is going to bit him big time, unless he just lights it up at his pro day.

Wow.
Just heard the McShay bit. I wonder which combine he was watching, saying that Sanchez was very accurate and peppering the ball all over the field. lol

lol ESPN probably paid him to say that so he could add drama to the next couple of months.

He did say Sanchez had quick feet and a quick release, which I would agree to. But he doesn't have great arm strength. Many times this year, I had to watch USC receivers basically stop and let the ball catch up to them.
Now Pat White had a great combine.

That's what I heard too. He ran a 4.55 which is great speed for a QB.
He could be a good pickup and possible sleeper.

Definitely, I just don't see him as a first rounder. He needs a few years to get into a good system and then take over.
Re: Official: Who Should Be The #1 Pick In The NFL Draft THREAD.
I kind of see Pat White being a lot like Mike Vick...except better at throwing and worse at dog fighting
Re: Official: Who Should Be The #1 Pick In The NFL Draft THREAD.
Ive read some Matt Schaub talk in here, and it looks like they may have to draft a later round QB as the Vikings are trying to acquire Sage Rosenfels from them. I feel bad for the Vikes, you have to have a pretty shitty QB to think about Sage as your future.
Re: Official: Who Should Be The #1 Pick In The NFL Draft THREAD.
They definitely will have to draft another one if they ship Sage off. Other than Schaub the only other QB on their roster is Alex Brink (Age: 23, College: Washington State, NFL Draft: 2008 / Round: 7 / Pick: 223) I think if they can get a Vet to hold the position for a year or two, the vikes will have a dangerous weapon in Jackson. Sage has the same problems the Vikes have with Jackson. With a ferocious defense, and Adrian Peterson in the backfield, all they need is a game manager...the Chad Pennington/Kerry Collins type of QB
Re: Official: Who Should Be The #1 Pick In The NFL Draft THREAD.
Yeah, im wondering why they are not pursuing Jeff Garcia. He is a little bit injury prone, but he is a great game manager and he would be a great short term investment. He would also fit in well with Childress offense. Im wondering why other teams are not making a bid for Garcia as well, theres a lot of teams with big holes at QB.

He would be a good fit for the Vikings. Any team that wants to put the ball downfield, though...not so much.
Re: Official: Who Should Be The #1 Pick In The NFL Draft THREAD.
USC's kicker supposedly outbenches some of the top o-linemen & LBs (25 reps of 225)
Re: Official: Who Should Be The #1 Pick In The NFL Draft THREAD.
Andre Smith now being talked about as a second day draft pick after a rough showing at his Pro Day
