Pedro Martinez 'auditioning'???
How the mighty have fallen.
At his peak, unquestionably the most dominant pitcher I have ever personally seen....the guy now has to use the WBC to audition for a major league job? I assume he's gotten offers but not to his liking, but i'm not sure of that. I haven't heard of anyone making him an offer. Hard to believe there aren't 20 teams out there trying to roll the dice with this guy. Seems like a low risk Smoltz type of contract would get it done.
Re: Pedro Martinez 'auditioning'???
Well, Pedro hasn't had a full season in 3 years. Smolz has pitched over 200 innings in 2 of the last 3
Re: Pedro Martinez 'auditioning'???
That's what a rotator cuff hanging by a microscopic thread will do to your marketability. He was a true great and is a first ballot Hall of Famer in my (or any sane person's: metsguy I'm looking at you) eyes. If he doesn't get in on the first go around it's only because writers don't know their a$$es from a hole in the ground. Oh, wait... :D
Re: Pedro Martinez 'auditioning'???
I'm scared that the Mets might resign him and stick him in the rotation.
Re: Pedro Martinez 'auditioning'???
I'd put him in an O's uniform this year. Heck, I'd put any pitcher in an O's uniform this year. :(
