what do you do with Peavy?
Once the sale goes thru the cubs may try and trade for peavy again... should hte braves get involved? that would suddenly make the braves the leader of the pack I think.
1)Peavy
2)Lowe
3)Vazquez
4)Kawakam
5)Jair
suddenly a VERY scary pitching staff. Then when Hudson come back go to a 6 man :D
Re: what do you do with Peavy?
prado, B.Jones, Morton, campillo for Peavy
Re: what do you do with Peavy?
I usually sell my Peaveys for a better instrument.
Oh, Jake Peavy? Ah. I'm thinking they hold him till the deadline when teams are anxious to trade for him in a pennant race.

There's some wishful thinking. Getting Peavy for a utility man, an unpoven outfielder with decent upside, an unproven pitcher without much upside, and a 30 year old starter who just had his first good year in the bigs for one of the best (young) pitchers in the game?

Ok now that the first homer proposal is done, maybe you would like to propose a more realistic one? ;)

:D eh.. worth a try :p
Heres the question... if it means getting Peacy do you trade them Jair? I dont want to give him up but now taat we have noone at SS (I dont want Hudson) we can go to... I DEFINATLY dont want to give up Escobar.
The more I thik about it tho... the more I dont think we can do it unles we plan on not picking up Hudsons option.
Next year looks like this
Lowe
Vazquez
Kawakam
Jair
Hanson
Hudson
(in no order of course)
Thats 6 legit starters and 5 if Hanson still isnt ready which he might not be.
if we add peavy I guess let hudson walk (or pick up option and trade him) and maybe trade Vazquez who at 11.5 for 1 year would be valuable I think. that makes a TON of room payroll wise too. with vazquez and hudson gone that more room than peavy would cost. so we can resign chipper to 2 years 25-28 million (if he will take it, which it soulnds like he might)
Re: what do you do with Peavy?
btw if jair went it would be
Peavy
Lowe
Kawakam
Hansen
Hudson. still formitable to say the least. with a true "ace" and 3 minimum #2's
Re: what do you do with Peavy?
From what I've heard it sounds like the Padres are asking for the moon for Peavy. If it were me I would personally just stay out of it if the rumors are true and the Padres are asking for a ton.

They could probably get the moon for him, if they waited until the trading deadline this year. But they would be taking a risk going that route. (injury, poor play). But if he is great, then there usually more times than not will be a buyer that will pony up for Peavy.
