I actually LIKE that, in roto at least (I've never played h2h as I said above). For one, it rewards people that pay attention to the league. For two, I like the strategy involved in identifying such "crappy pitchers" and getting the benefit out of them. I'm one of the most active when it comes to "transactions" in my fantasy leagues. In my 4 leagues last year:
League 1 - 52 moves, 6th out of 11 teams
League 2 - 74 moves, 2nd out of 12 teams. In this league, I missed the draft so my team was auto-picked. Of the 21 players, only 2 were the same between my drafted players and final roster (Jon Lester and Javier Vazquez).
League 3 - This league prevented ANY transactions. It was strictly "play what you draft."
League 4 - 103 moves, 1st of 12 teams.
I think the cap is much more effective and relevant for H2H leagues. No limit on the cap makes the playoffs a huge crapshoot.
In roto, I still think a cap is a good idea..but I think it should be a pretty lenient one..enough to allow you to make plenty of transactions..just not to the effect of having six starting pitchers literally every single day.

Hey I wouldn't pick Holliday, It'd be Tulo

I think the way to combat that is not a transaction limit, but an innings limit. Most leagues DO have a playing time limit for every position, not just pitchers. For each field position, its a 162 game limit. Once you accumulate 162 games of stats at the position, the stats stop counting towards your score. There's a corresponding innings limit for pitchers. Every league I've ever played in has had that, except for one custom league.

Innings limits are a must, I quite agree.
I do a LOT of transactions...pretty much every football team I've ever run in a fantasy league averages 3-5 moves a week. My baseball teams last year were more than that. Still, though, if it's all about head to head scoring, it's going to get downright stupid if every damn night everyone needs to log in and swap out a quarter of the roster to keep players in who are playing that night (believe me, I HAVE seen uncapped leagues get that ridiculous).

For rotos, sure, but for H2H, I don't think I've ever seen a max on innings for a week or matchup.

that 10 :D
as far as caps... i dont like position caps but for pitchers the caps there will be a cap. we can discuss it wen the time comes. I have been in a head to head where every day 1 guy added and dropped 5 pitchers. he won K's saves, and wins every week it was dumb. I also think we should put a 7 day wait in waiver claims. that makes it so you CAN'T drop a guy and pick him up on the waiver wire before his next start.
the fantasy baseball is not available yet in Yahoo but I have the link in my sig to this thread so as soon as its available I will pm all of you
Re: getting close to that time
Do we have to do it on Yahoo!?
Re: getting close to that time
yeah I would play H2H btw if there is still room, if not that is fine.

yes I like their setup. if u guys want to do a second one ill join :D
but mine will be Yahoo... we have 11 as of now with 200tang wanting in as well.. I was thinking... if we had 15 17 or 19 (since as commish id be in both) we can do 2 head to head leagues... I dont mind commishing both.
Re: getting close to that time
I could commish one.
I just like ESPN's setup a whole lot better than Yahoo!'s
Re: getting close to that time
I see that I am in the league? Has the league actually been set up yet? Just PM me with whatever info whenever you can..or let me know what's going on.
As far as caps...I think a 10 player cap per week works pretty well. Enough to allow you to change players due to injury and make some changes...but you can't just drop and add an excessive number of players. Scouring the waiver wire and FAs should be a skill part of the game..not just something to completely abuse and win the W and K category by default.

Yeah, as I said, I've never played in H2H and am unfamiliar with it, so I'm speaking purely from a roto standpoint.
Re: getting close to that time
ESPN is way better than Yahoo IMHO. I would do one via ESPN, but not Yahoo.
