That's pretty cool, would loved to have seen more umpires though. I'm sure if I look hard enough I could find them but alas it is 3 AM here so that will have to wait for another time. I've umpired baseball before and it does kind of suck. Personally I didn't like it anyways. I found calling balls and strikes from behind a catcher harder than I thought, especially when I was a lot taller than the players who were in junior high or elementary. Even squatting to see closer to their level it was still awkward. Umpiring is one of those jobs that some people will enjoy and others will hate.
I never like Angel Hernandez. I remember one Red Sox game when he was the third base umpire. Julio Lugo asked him about some appeal call and he immediately ejected him. Terry Francona came out to argue and he ejected him too. Neither of the Red Sox really put up a big fight--Hernandez was really pissy..
