Who is The Rays opening day pitcher?
Kazmir? He wasn't so hot on the road last year and Boston beat him like a red-headed stepchild (last year at least).
Re: Who is The Rays opening day pitcher?
And he owned Boston in 2007....

Yup..last year i saw a lot of the 'deer in headlights' look though. I have to imagine that Madden will preach a team pitching effort from Kazmir to Price. With no 'Ace' or 'no.1' tags applied to anyone.
That's what I'd do anyway with the well balanced starting staff they have.
Re: Who is The Rays opening day pitcher?
I feel like Shields is their "ace".

I think the bigger question is, who is the #5 pitcher for the Royals next year? Bannister? Cheap FA addition?? OH THE SUSPENSE!?!?
Re: Who is The Rays opening day pitcher?
Answering the original question,
Let Maddon decide during spring training.

I am more worried about the National's opening day starter. Without Odalius, who else can they turn to to screw up?????

I don't know, his ERA was not as high as they would like. Maybe they will acquire Mark Redman?
Re: Who is The Rays opening day pitcher?
Who cares who the Rays opening day starter is? Anyone of them is good enough to throw seven shutout innings against anyone on a consistent basis.

There's a deal in the works to acquire Matt Clement for Lastings Milledge and Elijah Dukes. And they've also been reported as offering Carl Pavano an 8-year $198MM deal. Things are looking up for Washington.

Given they open in Fenway, and Kazmir sucked against the Sox last year, I'd think you would care.
And Sonnanstine was mediocre last year. And Price hasn't pitched enough to make the distinction you did. But other than all that....yes, who cares.
