I suppose lying under oath and doing time taught her nothing. Now she's on TV denying that she ever 'knowingly' took roids. Really, anyone else see a pathological liar and get disgusted when hearing her talk??

I dont know what makes athletes think its ok to use this excuse. They think we are idiots. They would gather more sympathy if they were just honest.
Thats the thing! After she repeatedly lied publicly and under oath, she then came out and garnered sympathy by telling the truth and serving time. I and I'd bet many had sympathy for her and she could have greatly capitalized off of it. Her foolish pride however blinds her and she now goes back to lying again??? You're exactly right........she treats everyone as if they are an idiot. I know people like this however, who truly lie enough to where they start to believe their lies. Compulsive and pathological. It's scary.
this is always an amazing excuse ..
Like they said in Game of Shadows with Bonds .. he' a guy who won't east from the teams post game spread because he doesn't know the nutritional information, but he will go ahead and inject something into his body with out any worries or knowledge of what it is.
Im not entirely sure why athletes can't understand that most people want to forgive them and just want to hear them say they screwed up and did it and won't do it again.
Look at Giambi... he didnt even really admit it He just said I'm sorry... and NY forgave him
What do you expect her to do? She's lied about it the whole time, even under oath. She's not about to come clean about it.
Look what happened to Jose Canseco and Ken Caminiti when they came clean about steroids and in Ken's case, other drugs ... no one believed them.
Marion Jones is going to hold onto this lie as long as she can and mantain a viable career, either on television or writing books.
Nobody believed Canseco when he came clean about steroid?? I don't remember that.
Jose Canseco: "I used steroids during my playing days."
Non-believing fan: NO YOU DIDN'T! LIAR!
Jose Canseco: "No, seriously..look at my arms. Look at the veins. I used steroids. I admit it and am ashamed.
NBF: LIAR!!!! YOU ARE A ROLE MODEL AND AN EXAMPLE OF SOMEONE WHO TRULY DID IT THE RIGHT WAY!!
Except that when she WAS finally convicted, she did the whole 'teary heartfelt confessional' garbage to garner sympathy. Now she's out and apparently just expects everyone to have developed amnesia.
Luckily her sprinting career's over...enjoy being useless, Marion.
No one believed Canseco or Caminiti about the widespread usage of steroids in baseball and those named. Caminiti went on to take about other drug use as well.
Like I said, what did you expect?
Now, she'll find herself doing the talkshow circuit, starting with Good Morning America this morning. Following that, it will be the book tour. If she came out and said she did it all knowingly, she wouldn't be getting this second career.
I agree with dickay. She COULD have maybe set herself up for something if she'd picked a consistent direction and stuck with it. Now she's confused the whole situation, and nobody is going to believe her...period, no matter which way she tries to slant things.
And I DON'T feel bad for her. She could have played it straight, as she was earlier...she chose not not. She chose to try and act like we're all idiots who will just forget. Screw her.
Ya think so? Sounds like she's playing the pity card - sure she made some mistakes in her life but she put her trust in others (her ex-husband? trainers?) which led to this. Now, she just wants to be a good mom and perhaps use this to help others. That was what she said on Good Morning America.
All I'm saying is what she said on television. She said that she made some mistakes at that time in her life and trusted the wrong people. She went on to say she hoped good would come out of this and open some eyes.
Now, whether or not SHE thinks she's making YOU look like a fool is beyond me. That I can't answer.
Personally, someone wants to inject me with something, I want to know what it is they are putting in my body and then I'm going to look for an alternative to the needle.
And with the amount of drug testing that is required, she has to also be masking it somehow since she's been passing drug tests for years, which means more substances injected into the body.
Not that it's really related to this (and, overall, I tend to agree with the reactions expressed here. Not that it really matters), but I still say that athletes should simply be allowed to use whatever. They should simply be required to be under a doctor's care and supervision at all times...
All of this steroids stuff has just reached the level of absurdity, to me.
