Wait Phillies got Ichiro?
Manny should have been there to cut it off.
I remember seeing that lol.
ROFL at this thread
No doubt dude!
The Yankees were "bad"... I won't deny it...
But wait... Didn't the Yankees win 89 games in the AL East without Wang, Posada, Matsui, Hughes, Bruney, and A-Rod for either most of the season or an extended period of time.
Listen, I know you're really mad that the Yankees are shelling out the money to come in 1st place this year, and that the Yankees are once again favorites to win the WS, but don't worry... maybe Theo and co. will shell out the money to sign Tex or Lowe.
Lol I picked Tigers and Seattle to at least get into the playoffs...
And Cleveland to be good, and the Phillies to be 3rd, and it to go
And SD to be decent and contend with ARI winning the division and LA in 3rd
TAMPA,BOS,TOR, THEN the yanks (tho it was close lol)
oh yea and I had the braves going more like 90-72 not 72-90 so lets wait until mid season to see who is good ok :p
oh and when you add Texeria to the Boston lineup I put them back ahead of the yanks so dont get to high on that horse yet :p
Who said the Yankees are favorites? Most teams don't even have all their players yet and if I had to choose RIGHT NOW the Yankees would not be the favorites still, I think you would still have to choose Tampa or Boston over them.
....and this is why everyone hates Yankee fans. Yeah, what a freaking shame that Philip Hughes was hurt. He was so valuable. A 36 year old catcher getting hurt? Boy, I'm sure that won't happen again..WHAT A FLUKE!! Hideki Matsui has missed over half a season for two of the past three seasons....I guess that's what happens when you make big commitments to old players...which Sabathia will be before you know it, perhaps...or injury prone players like...oh, I don't know, A.J. Burnett.
Bruney? LMFAO...not worth comment. A-Rod played plenty of games. Injuries happen to all teams..but the Yanks give big money to players who get old during the length of the contract...you complaining about that is a complete and utter joke. You should be ashamed.
WS favories?? LMFAO..they aren't even favorites in their division right now. In case you don't know, things don't always go as well as they look on paper. The Tigers were going to score 1000+ runs last year and win well over 100 games because they traded for the "names" of Miguel Cabrera and Dontrelle Willis. How'd that work out?? OH yeah, they couldn't even handle my Royals.
yea I dont wan to hear about injuries... not only the Braves #1 went down, but the #2 AND #3 starter went down. Do you hear mea complaining about it... NO... it totaly sucked but its part of baseball. My star 3B franchise player ( Tho if Mccann keeps his great play he sure will take over) is lucky he plays 100 games anymore :( My RF fell off the face of the earth. Do yu hear me crying about the bullpen that lost its top 2 arms most of the season. Injuries are part of the game unfortunatly
LOL OMG guys...
I freaking LOVE how you people are attacking me! Keep it coming.. I was waiting for this; it was actually a bait to get you guys to burn me, so I can throw out the fact that............................................................................ ............................
Vegas has the Yankees as favorites!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No, not me... I do not have the Yankees as favorites... Vegas baby, Vegas baby... God what freaking little punks attacking me for stating the fact that right now the Yankees are favorites. Lol @ y'all.
Yeah, we all know how often Vegas is right . I think we've already seen how well the "sign all the good players" approach works, and that's why the Yankees are where they are now. IE without a ring in 8 or 9 years. Get over yourself and your team.
EDIT: I wonder what the odds on the Patriots were winning the Superbowl against the Giants were last season, or the Rays even making it to the World Series, or the Phillies winning it, or the Falcons doing as well as they are, or the Tigers doing as poorly as they did, or the Indians tanking the way they did. I'd give more examples, but I think I've made my point abundantly clear.
Ok...so bunch of people in Vegas are betting their money on the Yankees 4 months before the season
Oh god, another Yankee fan vs. everybody else pissing contest. Joy.
*sigh*
Wow, this got off-topic fast.
Because of this fact I heard that Theo and Francona have decided that 2009 isn't worth the effort. They have cleaned out their offices and have gone to Florida for an extended vacation. I even heard that AL MVP Dustin Pedroia has stopped working out and is contemplating sitting '09 out and hoping for 2010. ;)
For some reason it seems like all of the threads end up involving the Yankees because some ***** think they need to be in every baseball conversation. Ugh.
I dunno why everyone's getting up in arms. We all know the WS is gonna be Orioles and Nats, with the loser promising to move out of the area by Opening Day 2011.
Orioles and Nats? I actually expect them to not be HORRIBLE this year, but we'll see. Especially if either of them actually did get Tex, which I doubt, but again we'll see.
I'm not knocking either team really (though they are less likely than others.) The nice thing about a 162g season is that it may take forever to resolve, but anything can happen. Even in Baltimore and Washington. :)
