Benching McNabb was a mistake, one made because Reid listened to the fans. Then he made another when he threw the ball with a rookie QB on 2nd and inches from the goalline. RUN THE F'IN BALL REID!!
They are both gone after this year, however if public opinion were set aside the team would be better if both stayed.
Benching him was definitely a mistake.
Reid and McNabb have been through hard times before and come out of it, I hope they can again.
Really bad idea and I think it will come back to bite him in the end.
The Eagles are at a point where, honestly, it's probably rebuild time anyway. They don't have enough truly top end talent to be a major contender, they have not drafted well overall for several years now...so why continue to strive for .500? Move McNabb out while he's still worth something and rebuild the roster. And, frankly, unload Reid at the same time and build the team around a new system.
personally I hope they let him go...so he can be signed by my team!
I think it's more likely they trade him. There would be a solid market for him, so long as they're reasonable in their demands...after all, they don't HAVE to get rid of him, so team's aren't going to just lowball and wait for the team to cut him.Quote:
