Re: *Official trade thread*
Spoiler Alert
If you're reading my National's Dynasty proceed with caution.
Two different scenarios to consider. Both involving CF Elijah Dukes (86 overall) to Oakland for starting pitching
Last year Dukes hit: .253/.328/.438 OPS .766 in 149 games in left and center.
He's a plus defender in left (his original position) but a below average defender in center (now that the AI made him a CFer. Before he was a CFer he was a good defensive CFer. See here
Unchanged Oakland would use Dukes as the DH.
If I restore him to his previous abilities in LF and CF then Oakland would use him in left and make Cunningham the DH, pushing Daric Barton to the bench.
1) Dukes for SP Wade Miley (83 overall)
Miley is a young lefty. Miley pitched in 24 games-17 starts last season going 132.1 innings with a 3.47 ERA and 3.26 dice. It was his first season in the big leagues. He has 160 days of service time-meaning 3 years left before he reaches arbitration. He's listed as Oakland's #4 starter.
2) Dukes for SP Trevor Cahill (83 overall) and RP Matt Lindstrom (75 overall)
Cahill is a 24 year old righty who has 107 big league innings. 40 games with 5 starts. ERA of 7.38 and DICE of 4.97. He has 1 year and 45 days of service time. Oakland has him in AAA and risks losing him in the Rule V Draft has he will turn 25 on March 1st, the day that I hold the draft.
Lindstrom is a throw-away reliever. He has 100 mogul innings pitched and an ERA around 5. He has one year and $1.2 million left on his contract.
I look forward to hearing anyone's thoughtful opinions on these trades.
