And they'll probably be losing there coach because of it. But, congrats to them. And actually, they were invited to a bowl, but declined the invite because of this:

I knew about 1958 but since they rejoined Div1a about 7 or 8 years ago first time Bowl eligible. I think if Turner Gill was going he would have went last year when Nebraska was open though.
The ESPN story about the 1958 team is a good read too.
Oh snap, Buffalo is up 28-17 nearing the 4th quarter. Too bad my ESPN 2 connection is coming fuzzy, this looks like a good one.
Well, it looks like they are going to take this, up 42-24 with 2:45 left. Shocker for sure.
Saw this coming after the coach & AD showed little confidence in their team by declining a chance to play Boise
They were playing Ball State, who was 12-0 before this game.
I don't have cable but did see highlights. Turner Gill has UB always up to play the big teams. I was not surprised the kept it close. Pleasantly suprised they won. Stunned they won big.
From what I saw on highlights, was that Nate Davis the QB who tried to jump/dive into the endzone and fumbled leading to the TD that really swung the momentum to UBuffalo? Why would the QB of all people do that?
he can run, is very athletic and can do those things
