I have to admit that Pedroia had a helluva season. Though Cano's 06 season was much better than Pedroia's 08 season.
I hate to nitpick, but this would only be (arguably) true had Cano played as much as Pedroia did. The difference in playing time isn't minimal - 37 games, 218 plate appearances. That's a HUGE difference, and the difference between the two when ignoring playing time isn't close to being big enough to overcome the playing time issue.Quote:

Yes, while Pedroia did play more games than Cano did in his 06 season, Cano had almost the same amount of home runs, would've been close to the same amount of doubles, and also do not forget that Cano batted last in the lineup in 06, while Pedroia primarily batted 2nd, thus a LOT more chances to get AB's. Regardless, Pedroia had a great season, and has far exceeded my expectations of a slightly better version of David Eckstein. Cano will be to his hitting machine self in 2009, though.Quote:
