This has been my wallpaper for about the last two months. Speaks volumes.

Well, he won, but unless they made an error, someone didn't even have him on their ballot. What an idiot.
Re: Regarding Pedroia's impending MVP
I know, how could he not be on your top ten list for this year???

Umm... Not sure how this speaks volumes... Looks like he hit a homerun against the Yankees, that's it.

I guess you didn't do so well in literature class, especially when the topic was symbolism

Lol, you're the one saying that I obviously didn't do well in literature class, and you're telling me not to be snippy.
Anyways, no hard feelings... I am honestly just saying that I don't see any correlation of what Pavelb1 is saying about Pedroia winning AL MVP. I'm honestly not trying to be rude.
Re: Regarding Pedroia's impending MVP
Win 3 in a row, then give me a call, buddy.

This is quite possibly the most retarded and ignorant argument ever used by Yankee fans.
Honestly, who cares if you won 3 World Series in a row 10 years ago? Quit living in the past and accept and live with what the team is in the here and now, be it for better or worse.
If you'd won three in a row the past three years, fine, I would respect that. But you didn't, so unless you can rationalize to me how something your team did 10 years ago can tell anybody anything about how good they are now, why not use an argument that makes sense?

I thought he was talking about winning three MVP's in a row....which I'm not sure has been done. I didn't think for a second what the WS has to do with Pedroia winning the MVP*. Especially since no one even mentioned the WS.
*Ahh....I see Bonds did it 4 years in a row.
Re: Regarding Pedroia's impending MVP
I have to admit that Pedroia had a helluva season. Though Cano's 06 season was much better than Pedroia's 08 season.

I hate to nitpick, but this would only be (arguably) true had Cano played as much as Pedroia did. The difference in playing time isn't minimal - 37 games, 218 plate appearances. That's a HUGE difference, and the difference between the two when ignoring playing time isn't close to being big enough to overcome the playing time issue.
I say "arguably" above, because even given equal playing time, I still could be convinced that Pedroia's season was better due to better defense and better baserunning.

Yes, while Pedroia did play more games than Cano did in his 06 season, Cano had almost the same amount of home runs, would've been close to the same amount of doubles, and also do not forget that Cano batted last in the lineup in 06, while Pedroia primarily batted 2nd, thus a LOT more chances to get AB's. Regardless, Pedroia had a great season, and has far exceeded my expectations of a slightly better version of David Eckstein. Cano will be to his hitting machine self in 2009, though.
