Re: Hall of Fame Type Posts
Surprisingly enough, the Tigers are interested in Julio Lugo.
Re: Hall of Fame Type Posts
makes sense for Detroit for sure, but 22 million for Willis? With that delivery out of whack? I don't know.
Re: Hall of Fame Type Posts
No...he hasn't been good since 2005...Lugo can't blow a game singlehandedly like Willis can.
Re: Hall of Fame Type Posts
Willis may never, ever be an effective MLB starter again. I'm serious...he's in big trouble.
Unless he moves back to the National League of course. Then he's got a shot...lol
Re: Hall of Fame Type Posts
The only way Boston is going to rid itself of Lugo is by accepting another team's bad contract. I heard the Detroit rumor for both Willis and Robertson, and honestly, I'd send Lugo to Detroit for Robertson, but not Willis.
Re: Hall of Fame Type Posts
I would trade Lugo for Willis in a second....Lugo's that bad

i'd do the same. Yes you have an expensive player in Willis but there's more upsider there than there is with Lugo. If their farm can't get him somewhat competitive again, it's was worth the effort IMO.
Re: Hall of Fame Type Posts
Why trade Lugo? People said the same thing with the Crisp/Ellsbury situation last season, and it worked out just fine having both on the roster. He'd make a damn fine super-sub player, and there's always the possibility of injury or ineffectiveness.
Maybe trade him for Robertson, but Willis, no way.

We could trade him for Rogers if you really dont want Willis :p
