Then again, after trading Willingham and Olsen for arguably (much) less than they could have gotten from other teams (trading them together or separately), they probably would make that trade.
'Eh, no denying that Hughes and Kennedy's trade value is much lower than last year, but Hughes is still projected as an ace and is only 22, while Kennedy is still projected as a good #4. Horne is projected as a middle of the rotation starter, and AJax is a projected leadoff hitter. Either way, no way this trade would ever happen... I could see the Marlins jumping on it, but I couldn't see the Yankees agreeing to this anyways.

I'm not talking about it from the Marlins caring about service time with a player. I'm just saying that the jury is still out for me on Clayton Kershaw. I don't get caught up in the hype over any players until they've performed at the Major League level. Hanley Ramirez has had three really good seasons already. Kershaw hasn't even pitched one full season yet, so I'm just giving him a few seasons before I justify all the hype.

I agree on Hughes and Kennedy... they both are (hopefully) better than they showed last year. I'd just wait until they show signs of that by having a couple of good seasons at the Major League level. The Mets said Paul Wilson, Bill Pulshipher, and Jason Isringhausen would be pitching stars for years to come, and that didn't work out for them (although Izzy would become a good closer later on), so I always err on the side of caution with prospects until they actually perform.

Oh I agree... Prospects are a crapshoot. You see top prospects struggle their whole career and some prospects come outta no where and become stars. I am still undecided on Hughes and Kennedy myself. Some good news, though, is that Hughes has been throwing in the mid 90's this off season with very accurate radar guns - He hasn't thrown in the mid 90's since he was injured in 2007 against Texas... Boy do I hate Texas; Joba injured @ Texas, Hughes injured @ Texas.
Nats get Olsen, Willingham from Marlins
