There are a few.
But you have to remember alot of them are just fans of "Championship Wins".
It's a cool team to root for.
And how can you 'just tell' they're jumping on the bandwagon? Do you live in Philly?
Using your line of reasoning, I can 'just tell' that you're an idiot.
I'm pretty sure dickay is joking. Which is why I rolled the eyes.
But I could be wrong.
He's probably a Mets fan. Poor guy.
I believe he is poking fun; I'm assuming the Sox fans on here got some ribbing for the riots in Boston after our '04 (and maybe '07) WS wins.
I must admit, hearing the news of the Philly pandemonium made me feel a smidgen of smugness as well - a-ha, it's not just Boston that goes nuts for a World Series Win. I think Boston fans unfairly got the bad end of the stick...but then again, a girl was killed, which was a horrible, horrible tragedy. Hopefully the Philly celebrations don't get so out of hand.
Are you kidding? Boston doesn't hold a candle to Detroit's or Montreal's (or was it Toronto? I forget) "celebrations"!Quote:

I would hate to see what would happen to Chicago if the Cubs actually won one. There's always a few that have to ruin it for everyone else
ouch
ahhh...it happens in every city. I guess let them have their day.
Haha, I just ran a 60 year sim on another baseball sim. Created an entirely fictional world with 24 teams, fictional players, with demographics (size of market, etc.) randomly created, etc, but with real team names.
After 60 years, only 1 of the 24 teams never won the championship, in fact, they never made the playoffs. That team?? The fictional Chicago Cubs. :D
Even in fictional worlds, the Cubs are doomed. :D
Stanly Cup, of course.
:)
Stanley Cup win in '93. :D
Geez, that video footage etothep just posted looks a LOT like Oilers fans during the Stanley Cup Finals a couple years ago. Aaaah yes...riots, things on fire, mass arrests, police brutality, blood in the streets...AND THEY DIDN'T EVEN WIN.
You were born after June of 1993?
:)
That's my version of "I'm only 39" ...anyway, we English will always exaggerate anything, for a laugh! :D
Frankly, I had forgotten about Montreal's '93 win, or more likely it had never registered with me, since, for many, many years I lost interest in the game, completely (and merely lukewarm about it, now)
We had riots in Minneapolis after the Gophers won the NCAA hockey title a few years back.
Top that!
Again, Edmonton had riots when the Oilers made the Finals before they were even OVER. And they DIDN'T END UP WINNING.
