Ken Rosenfraud was just on XM 175, Homeplate. basically, he said he completely underestimated the Phillies pitching staff and that they are better than most people thought.
Well, Phillies fans already thought that!
Ahhh, life is good!

Having a couple of good games doesn't mean that the Phillies staff is better than most people thought. It's like saying Evan Longoria and Carlos Pena are worse than most people thought, which...isn't true.
The Phillies staff is good, one of the better ones in the NL. The only thing "most people" thought was that the Rays staff is better...and it is.
I totally was thinking Rays on this one. I was thinking a 4-1, maybe 4-2 series.
Phillies were surprising, especially Moyer and Blanton. They stepped up, and they deserve lots of credit for doing so. With Hamels going tonight, it looks like they could wrap it up and prove us all wrong. But the Sox couldn't take the Rays out in Game 7, so....let's see. The Rays won't go too quietly.
I'm glad it has been a surprising and good series. The WS needed this, with the sweeps getting tiring.
be careful my friend... the series is not over yet
I guess pitching doesn't win games? They ARE that good!
Well, they aren't looking all that great now, are they?
This contradicts what you first said!?
Did I say The Phillies won the series? NO!
I am just commenting on Rosenfraud's refusal to believe the Phillies are that good. And now that they are one win from winning it all, he ACTUALLY admitted they are that good. He is such a loser.
so... by manning up and admitting he was wrong instaed of saying something like "Philly got lucky" or "The best team isnt winning" or some crap like that...
HE is the loser?
If anything I give him credit for admitting he was wrong
He is still a loser. Ever since Tampa beat Boston, he has been riding Tampa so hard. He never picked Philly to win this year in any series. He never gave any respect to them. Why should I give him any respect? He doesn't deserve any.
By the way, when he said the Phillies are that good, he was laughing, embarassingly, but laughing. What a shrimp loser.
Good grief. The Phillies are a decent team. Thats it. A handful of games means nothing. The truth is, the Phillies are not among the 5 best teams in baseball. They haven't been "underestimated". They are an OK team, that just happens to be playing good baseball at the right time. Thats all.
There really is NO pleasing you is there???
Fla was better than the yanks in 2003? lol
Angels were better than the Giants in 2002? (debatable)
Arizona was better than the team that won 3 in a row and 4 out of 5 (yanks)
STL was better than Det in 2005 again laughable they won 83 games
Colorado was better than any national league team in 2007??? they played good ball at the right time
thats what philly is doing. There certainly not a BAD team and its hard to say they are not even a very good team, but before you go on about how they are the best... keep in mind that the best team doesn't always win. :p
I am willing to admit I wrote the Phillies off, but i certainly and STILL Not going to say that their pitching is better than Tampa... in not insane. They are much better than I anticipated I will admit that.
Both teams have pitched well.
No, I dont care who wins the series. I do not like or dislike either team. I am, however, realistic. The Phillies were not even the best team in the National League, which is much inferior to the American League. Thats a fact, like it or not.
And yes, the goal is to be playing good ball in October. I dont blame you, a Philadelphia fan for gushing over the Phils recent success. Much like Didger fans did a couple of weeks ago, before the clock struck midnight and they turned into pumpkins again.
Enjoy your teams good fortune. The team I root for has won 2 of the past 4 world series and, believe me, I celebrated each one. The simple truth is that the best team in baseball rarely wins the World Series anymore. I would submit that, in this century, it has happened only once. And it looks like it wont be happening again this year.
Yes. Once. In my opinion.
