Re: World Series Game 5 Discussion
lol
Believe me, they do. I guarantee it.
It wouldn't still be there otherwise. No baseball park, football stadium, or arena in the country relies only on the sports franchises that play there. There's no way for a facility to earn enough to pay for itself by relying only on sports.
Re: World Series Game 5 Discussion
i was thinking scheduling problems with people going to tampa...

I don't see why not. Hopefully they don't run into scheduling problems with the facilities...
According to the site the next thing scheduled at the trop is Nov 8th ...

Any World Series ended due to rain in the 5th inning absolutely is a horrible World Series.

but its not ending... they are going to finish the game... i guess i read the article wrong... i thought it meant that other things about the series were horrible. Yes they have blown calls but they do in every game so its not THAT big a deal especialy when you compare to the other series recently. and I honestly am VERY much enjojing this series

Meaning, IF the game was stopped for good and the Phillies declared champs in a rain-shortened game, the Phillies wouldn't really mind, but it might go down as the worst World Series ever.
Re: World Series Game 5 Discussion
lol i gotta stop reading stuff before im fully awake
Re: World Series Game 5 Discussion
If the Phillies end up losing this game, whenever it's resumed, they'll actually be in better shape than had they lost this game the day it was scheduled and no rain interfered....because they'll likely be able to bring Cole Hamels back on 3 or even normal rest in either Game 6 or 7.
Re: World Series Game 5 Discussion
Why would this be a bad WS if the Phillies won in 5 1/2? That actually makes it even better, since it is a rare occurrence.
Re: World Series Game 5 Discussion
whats funny is... if the philles score in the bottom of the inning and dont fall behind again Cole would sin the game that was played 2 games earlier :p
Re: World Series Game 5 Discussion
that game should never have been played. The infield was such a horrible mess. Worse part is that it should have been delayed after J-Rol dropped the pop-up. He cleary couldn't see it with raindrops dropping all over his face.

Because the World Series should be decided in full games. And it's completely anti-climatic to have the game enter a rain delay, and then be called over an hour or so later.
"We'll bring you the celebration in the clubhouse...just as soon as the player's are notified that the they've won!"
Being rare doesn't mean better.

They had to try to get it in, they were hoping that the weather would hold off a little longer, and simply at that time todays weather looked worse,
Re: World Series Game 5 Discussion
The rain delay is over.
:p
