Japan gets USA. Korea gets Venezuela
Semis saturday and sunday. Finals monday
I think the US game is Sunday.
EDIT: Yeah, US game is on Sunday.
Man the USA team has been hit by the plague. The funny thing is that even though the media and announcers are talking about it being a blow to the USA, when you're talking about replacing people with Even Longoria and Derrek Lee and other all-star player that's nothing. The difference, if any, between Derrek Lee and Youk or Chipper Jones and Even Longoria aren't that big, especially in tournament style play.

Great, Venezuela is going to lose now.
Now when Venezuela gets hit for 10 runs in the first inning everyone will know which team to hate :(Quote:
If the team from Venezuela makes it to the championship game of the World Baseball Classic on Monday, it will be a Mariners pitcher that helps gets them there.
It's go time, DONT BLOW IT SILVA!
It looks like Silva and Abreu are already in mid season form in the first inning...FAIL.
Umm... Bye Venezuela...
Assuming Korea holds on to this lead I'll be rooting for Japan in the next game. Sorry USA fans, but a Japan V Korea finals would just be awesome to watch.
Excited for the game tonight..
Go USA.
This tourney should replace ALL star weekend 1 year in 4 it would be better & promote the game world wide
BTW Korea WINS it all!!
Jon Miller and Joe Morgan calling this game..
According to Morgan, the U.S. will win on account of "mental toughness." He didn't happen to provide an analysis of the mental state of the Japanese team, but he has assured us that the Americans have the utmost of mental toughness due to a number of injuries to some of their players.
Why is Oswalt still in this game??? He should've been out three or four batters ago, easily.
Davey Johnson has been AWFUL this tourney.....
Gah. Come on ump. That pitch was way outside.
Adam Dunn done did what Adam Dunn does. :( Streeeerike Threeee!
Yeah that wright ball was outside
Yes it was.
On another note.
When does the world ask the question that is bothering me.
What are the Asians doing that the rest of the world isn't?
Has Korea or Japan even lost a SINGLE GAME to a non-Asian team???
I know they both lost to each other, but that may be their only losses. (Sorry, I just don't know, not up to date on the whole tournament).
If that's the case, doesn't that mean that maybe, just maybe, there's something to be learned there?
Man were toast:(:( Come Jeter get a hit and bring up Rollins to bomb one for the a 6-4 game.
Oh, you know what else I just thought of. Doesn't the WBC take place during Japan's season?
Oh, also, were there any players for either country that opted not to play? It seems like the players for those teams actually care more about the tournament than any other country so they end up with their best players and not just the best mixed in with the guys they had to use. Just going off the top of my head for Venezuela who had to send out Carlos Silva they could have used Santana or Zambrano.
The comeback is on.
NEVER count this team out.
The comeback is on.
You heard it here first.
I know this happened a while ago, but Adam Dunn..agh
Nevermind. While it was 6-2 when I posted that and it's now 6-4, Johnson just put in one of my Nats, Hanrihan, who wouldn't know the strike zone if it bit him in the ass.
It is plain to me that the USA (or Davey Johnson) doesn't care about winning.
So no comeback.
And I'm reminded of something my late dear old granpappy used to tell me. If you aren't going to do something right, then don't do it.
If the USA isn't gonna take this seriously, then why do it.
I'll leave now.
Well atleast we made it farther than in 06 see ya in 2013:(
jeter can't throw
Aaaaagh! Jeter, you CREEP!
Is it my imagination or is this WBC going to be decided by the teams who actually showed up and decided they wanted to field the ball??
No, it looks like it's gonna be decided by two teams that practice as hard as they play and while I'm typing this the US have demonstrated an "interesting" take on baseball fundamentals, much like Venezuela last night. Ick! That was fugly.
