Players say they want to "finish their careers" with certain teams all the time. Rarely happens....and with a 22 year old saying it, I'd say it means even less.

I'd say there's a 75% chance of him pitching for the BoSox when the time comes....maybe 15% chance with the Yankees, and 10% chance of staying in Japan.

I don't know if him throwing from three-quarters put extra movement on it, but I do know that it was filthy, sick and nasty and not because of the velocity.

I'm not old enough to have seen Dave Stieb's slider, nor have I seen Yu Darvish's, but I just mentioned Randy Johnson because he has the best slider I've ever seen.

I had herad that he wanted to spend 10 years in Japan and then said he would think about coming over at around 30 before the WBC started. I think he wouldn't even be eligible till around 30 anyways.

The one slider that I posted about earlier was probably the sickest I can recall..but it was only one time, no idea what kind of consistency he has with it..he threw several others that were tighter and seemed kinda averageish. Just going off of one outing though

Yu, for me, has the nastiest slider I have ever seen.

Wow, I was just reading on THT how Mark DiFelice threw like just 4 fastballs and 5 curves, and the rest of his pitches as sliders, out of 45 total.

I'm pretty sure he's not eligible until after the WBC. Could be wrong though and even if he has the ability that doesn't mean he wants to live here.
