w00t, Mexico is up 3-2 with a man on second!
Don't look now, but it's going into the 8th inning and those pesky Dutch are only down 1 to that powerhouse Venezuela team.
I'm getting sick of this WBC BS... this is ruining spring training...
Hopefully PR will lose soon, then the Mets get their whole team back basically
It is not "ruining spring training."
Metsguy, if you're going to come back to the forums, please back up what you have to say with evidence, not just your random thoughts that have no backing.
A team like the Mets has lost nearly all of their main players (Wright, Reyes, Tatis, Beltran, Delgado, Cora, K-Rod, Feliciano, Putz), many of whom were new. Now they won't have the chance to establish team chenistry. And what if one of them gets hurt? I'd never forgive Bud Selig if that happened, if his stupid World BS Classic lost the Mets the World Series
The point of spring training is to sort out the roster (for the team) and warm up and practice for the season (for players). The WBC harms neither of these two things.
Oh please. These are grown men (most of whom have been playing with each other for a few years now, anyway).
Considering how much like exhibition games the WBC games are conducted, they'd have just as much of a chance of injuring themselves in regular spring training.Quote:

Yeah, I can't believe what Selig did: going around to players' houses in the off season, putting a gun to their heads, and forcing them to play in the WBC. None of these guys wanted to play in this tournament, they wanted to be at spring training building team chemistry. Stupid Selig!
