regardless of what happened tonight...you should be grateful they made it this far.

[QUOTE=Reade;1190657]Dickay, you have just proven with this whole thread why most people hate the Red Sox and their so called Nation. It's kind of funny that there wasn't a Nation until they started winning World Series. Thanks, you've made it so simple.

Stop..stop stop with the myth propogating.
1) The sellout streak started before 2004
2) So-called RSN was a term invented in 1986 and further assimilated in 1996.
Yeah i agree with houstongm
that was a bit of a strong statement after his numerous posts regarding when I can and can't cheer and jeer. I agree it was over the top....however I can tell you what I wouldn't do. I wouldn't whine and ***** at someone for getting emotional over the team they root fors performance. I may jide them, as I did metsguy about his team. But a true fan does get emotional about their team. I'm not saying one should go out there and flip cars, start fires, or go on a drinking binge.....but I post i'm pi$$ed and he tells me to stop whining??? WTF???
One can appreciate what the team has done in years past and still be upset when they don't win. Anyone who thinks that just because a team performs well, that their fan base should simply never complain is dead wrong.
I never said one word about when you can cheer and can't cheer. I'm talking about the WHINING that you were already starting up and that I've pretty much heard non-stop since the BoSox lost game 4 of this series. Of course you can cheer and brag all you want when they win, but when they lose, you say all the other teams fans should "STFU," but you can whine about losing, despite the fact that your team has been a mini-dynasty this decade. I'm a Royals fan and I don't whine very much about my team, but I certainly understand those who would. A BoSox fan whining (and I was at the game where we beat the BoSox this year..and boy their b*tching never stopped that game) is just ridiculous.
Also, I don't think anyone is claiming Red Sox nation was created four years ago.....but now everyone all over the freaking country claims to be a part of it now that they are good. Just like all the Yankee fans I went to high school with and the tons of Cowboy fans I went to grade school with. Pathetic.
so your not saying when we can cheer and jeer, but then you are saying its 'just rediclous' for red sox fans to ***** about their team when they lose??? I said STFU, and I should have clarified....you can whine/*****/mock any team whenever you want...but when you tell someone when they can and can't ***** about their team, then yes you need to STFU.
I can understand Royal fans not being as passionate about losing. Not trying to be funny with that statement, but they have certain expectations. I can understand you being upset about baseball economics..even as a Sox fan I am upset and will agree with you there. But to say Red Sox fans have nothing to complain about solely because they have won recently is ignorant. Thats part of being a sports fan....and just because the Sox have won, i'm sorry but i'm not turning in my sports fan hat because you and other ignorant people like you think for some reason its arrogant to be in anything but lifelong total euphoria!! It doesn't work that way. If you don't like Red Sox fans complaining about their teams performance, ignore it.
7 years ago everyone said I was a front runner because I'm a braves fan (in CT). i still back them... even tho we have had 3 not so great years...
No I didn't suffer for 86 years but who cares... in 10 years if/when they suck if her still roots for them, you all have to eat crow.
thats because some of us feel as tho you guys are friends/family.
BOSTON!!!! Dickay, u wait and see, we won last night, and WE WILL WIN IT ALL!!!!!
Not happening... Rays will win tomorrow and you guys will be done... if you get the incredible luck to make it to the World Series you will get crushed by Philadelphia.
And the thing that annoys me about Red Sox fans is that they are fair-weather fans... before 2004 not many people were showing up and now everyone seems to be a Sox fan... they're really the only team that does that (besides the Yankees,of course :D)
I highly doubt they'd be crushed by Philadelphia. I give the huge edge to either AL team.
This isn't true.Quote:

No, every team does it to an extent. Winning team = more fans.Quote:
