Not even close to being a bust. Just because you win the Heisman doesn't mean you will be great in the NFL. He was never really considered to be more than an NFL backup.Quote:

I can't believe I forgot the drafting of workout warrior Mike Mamula #7 in '95 by the Eagles! Guy was an okay player, but he specifically worked out to 'beat' the Combine (a practice that has become regular these days), and shot up to being the 7th pick in the draft. Actually, Jon Harris, another end Philly drafted 25th in '97, might be worse. Mamula at least had a few reasonable years a rush end...Harris did NOTHING, and was a guy no other team had ranked above Round 3, but Ray Rhodes decided he could turn him in to a star.

Maybe the fault lies with the self proclaimed experts that label these people "can't miss". Then, when they do miss, rather than admit they were wrong they call the person a bust because they failed to meet the experts expectations.

As a team, it's hard to top the draft picks that the Washington Bullets - sorry, Wizards - have made. Kwame Brown, LaBradford Smith...arrrrgh. Even the ones they hit on, like Tom Gugliotta and Rip Hamilton, did their best after leaving. I can never forget John Nash telling the crowd at the Cap Centre, "You can judge me and my job on how well LaBradford Smith does." Whoooof!
