figures. I dont like week arms in CF.
Well if they sacrificed that we could get crisp for cheap (about 5 million)
throw 20 at manny (lol :p not a chance it would be a 2-3 year deal around 45-50 million he gets)
15-18 at Lowe
2 each at Glavine Smoltz, Hampton with the aformentioned incentives (if only 2 leave off glavine)
I was just thinking... could we trade kochman with someone and get a good starter??? not like santana or some ungodly pitcher like that but someone of smaller stature.
I would not mind seing 4 years 20-25 million thrown at oliver perez but I dont think he would sign for that low
the walks scare me but... bette than the russ ortiz disaster

The Rockies have confirmed that they'd be willing to deal Holliday.
And honestly, they should. His value is at an all-time high right now because of his MVP run last year, and his Coors-inflated stats. If they deal him, they'd likely get a lot more value in return than Holliday will give his new team.
This isn't saying that Holliday's a bad player, because he's not, he's really really good, but not as good as his unadjusted stats would indicate.
You might squeeze in with your line-up, just like in 2007...but your pitching is going to kill you just like this year. Sabathia's arm is going to be mush for two months, I see Mussina of 2007 returning, Sheets is a big question mark. Hughes also.
But your line-up makes me pee my pants...except for Irod of course. In August I said I had no problem with Manny being a Yankee because basically he would 'only' turn in Giambi like numbers...that was before he decided to be Babe Ruth. God knows what he'd be in the new Yankee Stadium. I suspect he's an android like in that Twilight Zone episode.
The Twins actually won't have a lot of turnover this year. They have depth in the OF(Young, Gomez, Span, Cuddyer, Kubel), and one of them will probably be traded for a SS or 3B. Might trade Philip Humber too someone because it is doubtful he will make the team. Dennys Reyes will be gone because the Twins like Breslow and Mijares. Neshek will be back to stabilize the BP. I am REALLY looking forward to next years team.

Braves Wren have been told they have $40 million to work with this year on f/a's
Griffey 7-10 million (or 6 million and another 3-4 in incentives)
Lowe 15-18 Million (I hope) 3 years
Garland 10-13 million 2 years (3 if we HAVE to)
Smoltz 2 million (5 million in incentives) 1 year deal
you think they would let them go a hair over???
only problem is no really stable righty in there, Id substitute oliver perez for garland tho.. that might be a few millin cheeper too
